Hi guys! I can’t believe I’m writing about what I read in July already, I feel like I just did my post for June! I did do quite a bit of reading last month as I normally do read a lot when I’m out at the lake. I’m slowly but surely closing in on catching up on where I should be at with my goal. So.. let’s look at what I read in July!
Into the Water by Paula Hawkins
Written by the same author as The Girl on the Train, Into the Water has a similar pace/reading experience. If you enjoy the psychological suspense genre then I think you would enjoy this book. I don’t want to say much about it as I’m always so worried I’m going to spoil this kind of book. It certainly kept me guessing as I read it!

Everything Everything by Nicola Yoon
This read was motivated by my desire to see the movie. I’m one of those people who prefer to read the book first. Everything Everything is about a teenage girl who suffers from Severe Combined Immunodeficiency, meaning she is basically allergic to the world. She is quite content with her life until a new neighbour moves in and changes her world. I really enjoyed this book, I think I finished it over the course of an afternoon.
Word Count: 109,120
The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown
I’ve had this book on my shelf since it originally came out but for some reason haven’t read it until now. I was really into Dan Brown books when I was in high school so reading this was a bit nostalgic for me. The Lost Symbol once again brings us into Robert Langdon’s world as he once again has to untangle a world of secrets and hidden history when his mentor is brutally kidnapped. I was definitely hooked on this one as well as I read it. Dan Brown sure knows how to write a thriller!
Word Count: 193,440

Goal Progress
The pink represents the goal for each month(s) and the purple is what I actually read. The final column shows my progress compared to where I should be with my yearly goal (reading 240,000 words per month). I’m slowly catching up to where I should be to be able to meet my goal!
Did you read anything fantastic last month? Let me know in the comments down below!
xoxo,
Robyn

I just finished A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman. It is a great read, a little sad in places but it really gets you involved with the characters. I didn’t expect to like it at first but it grew on me, a lot.

Ooh, I’ve been trying to decide if I should get Into the Water. I love thrillers but I didn’t totally LOVE Girl on the Train.
The last book I read that I really loved was Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty. You should give it a try if you haven’t already!
