Blush Round-Up

Hi guys! After my last round-up post I decided to round-up my blushes and swatch those for you as well. I figured I would start with blushes because it’s a relatively small portion of my makeup collection. I love how much a complimentary blush can make a look more complete. I usually go for a little wash of colour on my cheeks, I don’t really wear anything too intense when it comes to blushes. The blushes are less intense than my swatches suggest, I tried to build up the colours so that my camera would pick them up.

e.l.f.: Blush Palette in Light

The e.l.f. Blush Palette is very pigmented, however you do have to work to blend it in. I’ve heard that the Morphe 9B Blush Palette is comparable, but more blendable. With how low the price is for e.l.f. products I’m okay with putting in a little extra work to blend them in.

Too Faced: Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush in Candy Glow & Love  Flush Blush in How Deep is Your Love?

Too Faced makes some very nice blushes. I’m really fond of the Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush. I never wear these by themselves, I always blend all three colours together on my brush. The Love Flush Blush is also very nice. It is matte, pigmented and long-wearing. I haven’t had it as long as the Sweethearts formula, but I’m enjoying it!

NARS: Deep Throat & Orgasm

These two are my go-to blushes and definitely get worn the most. They are both peachy toned and seem to go with everything. Deep throat has a more coral/pink colour with a bit of a sheen to it. Orgasm is much more glittery and but is more of a light wash of colour. The Orgasm shade is a cult classic and you can find the shade in other products in the NARS line such as lipgloss.

Urban Decay: Afterglow Blush in Fetish, theBalm: Fratboy, Tarte: Dollface, and Rimmel: Stay Blushed in Peach Flush

The Urban Decay Afterglow Blush in the shade Fetish is another one of my most worn blushes. It is so smooth to apply and blends effortlessly into the cheeks. It’s matte and very natural looking when it is blended in. I need to get more blushes from this line!

theBalm’s Fratboy is very new to my collection. I got it in a Birchbox and actually haven’t worn it yet. Based on the swatches that I have done it is a lovely colour, is smooth and is pigmented.

Tarte’s Dollface is the pinkest blush that I own. It is very pigmented and intense looking when swatched but it does blend in nicely. I try to use a very light hand when I use it though.

Rimmel’s Stay Blushed Blush in Peach Flush is one of the oldest blushes in my collection. You need to only use a very, very small amount and it blends nicely into your cheeks to give a subtle wash of colour.

What are your favourite blushes? I would love to hear your suggestions!

xoxo,

Robyn

  1. You should try a super intense berry blush with burgundy lips – it takes some getting used to, but it’s a really fun, intense look. Because I wear glasses, it’s hard to make my eyes the focal point of my makeup, so I’ve come around to making my cheeks the standout – strong contour, intense blush. It’s fun 🙂

  2. As an owner of more than 150 blushes, your question about “favourite blushes” is a tough one! I’d say the top brands in my collection are: MAC, Cargo and Illamasqua. They’re consistently well pigmented and long wearing for me. Since you like softer colours, I highly recommend these Cargo shades: Big Easy and Tonga. In the drugstore range, I like Annabelle blushes – #44 Rose Fawn would look lovely on you!
