Hi guys! I’m finally jumping on the micellar cleansing water bandwagon. I’m pretty late to the party but I finally decided to try out the one that Garnier put out (and it was on sale!). I chose the formula that claims to remove waterproof mascara so that I could really put it to the test. I’ve enjoyed all the Garnier skincare products that I’ve used so I was excited to give this one a try!
This Micellar water is alcohol-free. It cleanses your skin without needing to rub or rinse by lifting away dirt, oil and makeup with its micelles. It’s a watery liquid that feels a bit slippery but does not contain oil and it does not have a scent.
The first time I used it I wasn’t wearing waterproof mascara, but I was very impressed with how quickly and easily my makeup came off. I got my whole face of makeup off using only one cotton round. Usually I use two, one for my face (using an all-over makeup remover) and then I use a second for my eyes (using an eye makeup specific remover). This drastically trims down my nightly routine!
The second time that I used this was in the morning. I always wash my face in the morning to get rid of any oil that has built up over tonight, as well as to remove any leftover products I had put on my face before bed. I was once again impressed! What usually takes a few minutes (waiting for the tap to get warm, washing my face and rinsing) only took a few swipes of a saturated cotton round and that was it! It took seconds! Best of all, my face felt really clean afterwards.
The third time I used this was once again in the evening and this time I put it to the waterproof mascara test. I used waterproof mascara which is usually very stubborn to remove with my normal eye makeup remover. It took a little extra effort than when I had regular mascara on, but I was shocked to see it come off so easily. Definitely less effort than my normal routine.
Okay so I’m sold. I love this micellar water! I feel like with how little that I have to use it is going to go a long way. I do want to try other micellar waters once I’m done with this one and have officially hopped on the bandwagon.
Do you have a micellar water that you love? Tell me all about it in the comments down below!

I’m a micellar water fiend! I use cleansing oils to break down makeup, and then micellar water to remove the residue. It’s really effective to get rid of all sorts of makeup in such a gentle way!
Like everyone else, I started out with Bioderma but it’s not my favourite. I love the Yves Rocher Micellar Water, it’s the best I’ve tried for a reasonable price:

Others that I’ve liked are: Caudalie, Reversa and Vichy.
But I see that a lot of mainstream drugstore brands have launched their own micellar waters so I’m interested in trying some out! This Garnier one is on my list! Glad to hear you liked it. 🙂

Oooooh, I think I need to give this a try. I use Sephora’s Cleansing Water right now and I love it but I go through it quickly and its kind of pricey. Do you remember how much you paid for this?

I still have yet to try one! I’ll get around to it one day, lol.

It was mostly the fact that it was on sale that sealed the deal haha… but I’m happy I tried it because my makeup removing routine is done in half the time it used to take!

I hear ya! I’m the same way! 🙂 That’ll probably be how I end up buying it.
