MOTD: Warm Eye Look

Hi guys! Yesterday was Family Day in Canada so I decided to take the day off to spend the day with my husband and post today instead. If I had posted I was going to do a MOTD post, but I didn’t even end up wearing much makeup anyways.

I had purchased a red knitted tunic on Sunday which I was planning on wearing today since my husband and I have an event to go to tonight and it really made me want to play with warm eye shadow. I also think that now that my hair isn’t red anymore I feel this compulsive need to add more warmth to my look. Maybe this is because I’m so cool-toned? Who knows?

Products Used:

Primer: Nivea Post Shave Balm in Sensitive
Foundation: L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation in Classic Ivory
Concealer: Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer in Fair Neutral
Powder: Maybelline Matte + Poreless Translucent Powder
Blush: NARS Deep Throat
Contour: Anastasia Beverly Hills Fawn
Highlight: Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Glow Palette – Champagne Pop (cheek bones)
Eyes: Urban Decay Primer Potion (original). Kat Von D Monarch Palette – Vanish (transition), Wrath (crease and outer half of lid), Summerfly (inner half of eye) and Papilo (outer corner of eye lid and under eye). L’Oreal Telescopic Black Carbon Mascara (lashes).
Brows: L’Oreal Brow Artist Shaper in Blonde and L’Oreal Brow Stylist Plumper in Light to Medium
Lips: Colourpop Lippie Stix in Topanga and Freida (layered)

I absolutely love the Kat Von D Monarch Palette for easy warm looks. The shadows practically blend themselves. They are a bit powdery in the pan and they are very, very pigmented, but I still do find them easy to work with if you use a light hand. This is definitely one of my all-time favourite palettes. I’ve previously posted about it and done a somewhat similar look here and posted swatches of the palette too!

What do you have on your face today? Let me know in the comments down below!

xoxo,

Robyn

  1. LOVE this look on you! So fresh, especially on a snowy day like today. 🙂
And that lipstick shade is simply perfection on you – I see that you mixed 2 shades to achieve that. Well done!
I’m testing out my Buxom Look All You Want palette today – ventured into the smokey purple shade mixed with the shimmery silver/taupe. Really like it so far!

    • Aw thank you! I’ve been on a major warm-toned kick lately. Ooo the smoky purple and shimmery silver/taupe sounds so pretty together! I bet it looks fantastic! I haven’t heard of that palette, I’m definitely going to look it up now though!

      • It was a limited edition Holiday palette which I got on clearance after Christmas ($37 vs $50 reg). I’m planning on doing a review on it even though you might possibly not be able to get this set again, but some of the colours in the palette are available in the core collection – they’re Buxom’s new-ish refillable pans:

By the way, I redeemed for the UD Naked Skin concealer this weekend and I’m excited to try it. It has lots of raves – you like yours?
