Hi guys! Today I’ve got a skincare review for you. I recently purchased the St. Ive’s Green Tea Scrub in my last Drugstore Haul so after using it for a few weeks I am ready to tell you what I think of it.
This scrub has a very interesting texture. It is as if a clay mask and an exfoliating scrub combined into one. I find it is very gentle to use and does a great job at keeping my pores clean. As well, it helps buff off any dry patches that this lovely winter may have caused. The exfoliation factor chart on the back labels it as moderate (on a scale of gentle, moderate and deep). I still find it quite gentle though but I do not have sensitive skin.
Due to the texture I find I prefer keeping it in my shower. You know that lovely thing that happens when you go to rinse off a clay mask in the sink and it seems to go everywhere? When it is difficult to rinse out of every nook and cranny of your face? That is what happens when you go to rinse this off. Using it in the shower seems to work best so that I don’t splash water everywhere while I rinse it off.
A little bit goes a very long way with this product so it is best to use a small amount. You don’t need much and using any more than you need makes rinsing it a longer process than necessary.
This is a 100% natural exfoliant, it is sulfate-free and does not contain parabens. It also contains oil-free salicyclic acid acne medication so I think it would be best suited for oily skin. Although most skin types can handle a concentrated amount of salicyclic acid. The packaging says it should be used twice daily for best results, but I typically only exfoliate every few days.
