MOTD: Warm Neutrals

P1020563.jpg

Hi guys! I’m back with another Makeup of the Day post! I noticed today that when I use my Urban Decay Naked Palette I usually use it more for very light, almost non-existent makeup. I will use a few of the darker shades to add depth to the outer-v of my eye but that’s about it. So, today I decided to venture into just the darker side of the palette and do a warm, darker look using this beautiful neutral palette. I also decided to add a few more products in the mix that I’ve acquired over the past month or so that I haven’t gotten around to testing yet.

Products Used:

Primer: Nivea Post Shave Balm in Sensitive
Foundation: L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation in Classic Ivory
Concealer: Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer in Fair Neutral
Powder: Laura Mercier Translucent Powder
Blush: Too Faced Love Flush Blush in How Deep is Your Love?
Bronzer: Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer
Highlight: Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Glow Palette – Champagne Pop (cheek bones, inner corner of eyes and brow bone)
Eyes: Too Faced Shadow Insurance Primer. Urban Decay Naked Palette – Naked (transition), Buck (transition), Hustle (crease, inner and outer corner corner of eye lid and under eye) and Toasted (centre of lid and under eye). Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner in Demolition (waterline). Benefit Cosmetics They’re Real Mascara and Maybelline Lash Sensational (lashes).
Brows: NYX Micro-Brow in Taupe and L’Oreal Brow Stylist Plumper in Light to Medium
Lips: Essence Lipliner in Satin Mauve and Essence Long Lasting Lipstick in Barely There

So the products I’m testing are the Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer, the Essence lip products and the Benefit Cosmetic’s They’re Real Mascara. Just based on some first impressions… The bronzer so far is a hit. It’s light enough and neutral enough to not clash with my skin tone. It also smells amazing! It has a light tropical scent to it. I use a light hand and notice a subtle sun-kissed glow to my skin. The Essence lip products are both pigmented and smooth to apply. My lips do feel a bit dry though. The mascara on the other hand is a total miss for me. My lashes looked clumpy and weighed down. I tried to add a bit of my Maybelline Lash Sensational but even that couldn’t add the curl back to my lashes. I don’t think I’ll be picking up my sample size of the They’re Real mascara again.

What do you lovelies have on your face today? Let me know in the comments down below!

xoxo,

Robyn

  1. I love the original Naked palette. I’ve had mine for more years than I prefer to say and it’s still going strong. It’s such a great palette!

I too am not a fan of They’re Real mascara either, did absolutely nothing for my lashes. Don’t understand the hype around it.

    Lovely look! 🙂

    • Thank you! 🙂

What I love about this palette is that you can have it for a long time and still discover new looks to do with it!

I don’t get the hype around the They’re Real mascara either! I’m not really that picky when it comes to mascara but this one just looks off.

  2. I LOVE the original UD Naked palette, it’s one of my fav’s for sure!
The bronzer sounds very intriguing…being extremely fair skinned as well, it’s hard to find a light bronzer that doesn’t look to orange or muddy.
When I first used the They’re Real mascara I didn’t like it but the more I used it, the more I liked it…maybe not enough to repurchase though.
Very pretty look, as always 🙂

    • Aw thanks! So far I’m liking the bronzer! I’m using it for a third time today and so far so good! I was actually originally out to get Benefits Hula Bronzer but the shoppers I went to was totally out of it so I grabbed this one instead. So far haven’t regretted it!
