Love for Lipstick: Too Faced Melted Matte

Hi guys! I hauled some new lipsticks a few weeks ago in my last Love for Lipstick post so today I’m ready to share my first review! The Too Faced Melted Matte lipsticks are a new line that I’ve been dying to try so it is no surprise I am reviewing this one first. I love the packaging (it’s flat which makes them a dream to photograph) and the fact that they are long-wearing mattes! I chose the shade Lady Balls for two reasons… the first being that I don’t currently have a true red liquid lipstick and the second being the name. I think its hysterical… What am I wearing on my lips you ask? Lady Balls. Love it.

1. 8:00 am: freshly applied 2. 12:30 pm: after eating lunch 3. 6:00 pm: final check-in (before eating dinner, but it did actually survive dinner too)

The wear time of this lipstick is pretty incredible. It survived eating a messy sandwich at lunch which was the true test. It’s a bit faded but you can rub your lips around to re-distribute the pigment so it never looks patchy. As of right now I have been wearing it for 12 hours. Incredible.

This is a matte liquid lipstick so I wouldn’t say it feels hydrating at all, but if you like liquid lipsticks then you would probably enjoy it. It doesn’t feel overly drying, but I like liquid lipsticks so I would say it probably depends on your tolerance for them. My lips feel dry but not painfully so.

The doe-foot applicator makes it easy to apply and the consistency is easy to work with. One issue with it is that it is not transfer proof at all. If you accidentally touch your lips you will have it on your hand. I tried to fix a little bit that went rogue the first time I wore it and accidentally smudged all over my chin. Not a cute look. However, I love the shade and the formula enough to wear this over and over again. You can’t beat a lipstick that you don’t have to touch up at all throughout the day.

Overall, I really enjoy this liquid lipstick and for me the positives outweigh the one negative. I definitely look forward to adding more to my collection.
