Hi guys! I’ve gotten more in the swing of reading again this month and I have been reading up a storm. There is nothing better than relaxing on the deck with a good book and I am so glad that the weather has been getting warmer to allow that to happen. I managed to read three books this month which makes up for the lack of reading last month!
The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion
The Rosie Project is about a socially awkward geneteics professor, Don, who decides that the best way to find a wife would be through a questionnaire that would find him his most compatible partner. He meets Rosie who is the complete opposite of what he is looking for, however he spends a lot of time with her helping her with a genetics project. The book is in the romantic comedy genre and I really enjoyed it. The characters are quirky and you immediately grow attached to them. I highly recommend it!
The Rosie Effect by Graeme Simsion
I’m not going to talk about this one at all as it would give away The Rosie Project if I did. I really enjoyed it though, although I felt really bad for Don throughout the entire book. Sometimes it emotionally hurt to read, but overall was a good book. I think it’s because you grow so attached to the characters that you feel a bit defensive of them!
The Year I Met You by Cecelia Ahern
Inspired by the lovely Classic Maggie I decided to pick a Cecelia Ahern book to add to my reading this month. This one is about Jasmine, whose identity is so embedded in her work that when her work is taken away from her she has an identity crisis. The book is also about Matt who hits rock bottom due to drinking and other negative events in his life. I don’t like saying too much about the books I read to avoid spoiling the plot but I did really enjoy this book. I forgot how much I enjoy Cecelia Ahern books so I’m going to have to read more of them!
So, that is what I have read this month! I would love to know if you have read great anything lately so please feel free to leave a comment down below! I really enjoyed The Rosie Project, but it kind of bothered me that Don was basically the exact same character as Sheldon Cooper from the show The Big Bang Theory. Haven’t had a chance to read The Rosie Effect yet, but that’s on my list of books to read next!

That’s so true! I knew he felt familiar! I think out of the two of them I preferred The Rosie Project more. Check back in when you finish the Rosie Effect and tell me what you thought! 🙂
