Hi guys! It’s time for another Mani Monday! I recently posted about the Essence Gel Nail Polish when I did my last Drugstore Haul. I couldn’t wait and I had to immediately apply the whole system to my nails. I chose Play With My Mint as it’s a cute minty green shade, a colour that aside from purple, I’m instantly drawn to. This polish claims to last “60% longer” but I’m not sure what the comparison is to… other gel polishes? Regular nail polishes? Anyways, with how inexpensive these were, and the “gel” concept, I was hooked.
Products Used:
Essence The Gel Nail Polish Base Coat
Essence The Gel Nail Polish in “Play With My Mint” (2 coats)
Essence The Gel Nail Polish Top Coat
Application was very smooth and the consistency was not too thick and not too thin. Dry time left something to be desired, but I am used to fast drying top coats. Once the nail polish set though, it felt completely dry. Normally nail polish takes 24 hours to truly dry properly and while I’m sure this is similar, it felt more dry than normal once it “set”. If that makes any sense… I’ve had this on my nails for about 5 days now and the only chips I have are my own fault from using my nails to peel off stickers and such. Other than that, my nails still look flawless. When I take this off, I’ll try to remember to post an update on Instagram! Even as of now, my nails never look this good after 5 days, so I’m impressed. I’ll definitely pick up more of these!
What do you have on your nails today? Let me know in the comments down below!

Robyn

Good to know this is long wearing. I don’t think most other non-UV light “gel” polishes are worth it, personally. But Essence is such an affordable brand I might have to check it out. I’m wearing my mani from last week… (Orly Coffee Break) day 8 and still going strong! Was too lazy last night to do my nail…

Yeah aside from the 2 nails I banged up my manicure still looks flawless! I definitely need more of these! It was like $15 for the base coat, polish and top coat all totalled up which I think is pretty reasonable!

Cute colour! I love mint shades! Good to know these guys are long wearing! Totally worth the $15 for the entire set! On my nails right now…nothing 😩 but I might paint them up tonight.

Oh definitely! I need more of these now! I had nothing on my nails for like 2 weeks which is very unusual for me but I’ve been caught up with playing with the bunny haha…

I don’t blame you! Playing with the bunny would be WAY more fun!

I love this colour and happy to know they’re long lasting too! I just purchased my first essence products today and I am so excited to try them out. They’re such a great price!

I love Essence products because they are so inexpensive! I haven’t tried the nail lacquer yet though (I’m a Jamberry girl myself) but I just might after reading your review. Love this minty colour!

I’m normally a OPI girl but this polish really impressed me! My only gripe now is that if you do chip a nail the rest practically peels off in sheets but on all the nails that I didn’t manage to bang up, the polish looked flawless when I took it off 8 days later!
