Hi guys! I don’t really follow rules when it comes to makeup so I wear most lip colours all year round. However, I do tend to reach for certain colours depending on the season. So when the weather warms up, I find myself automatically reaching for bright lip colours. So, I thought it would be fun to share with you my favourite five lip colours for the summer!
NARS | Audacious Lipstick in Juliette
A beautiful light pinky coral lipstick that from the moment I laid eyes on it screamed “summer staple”. For a moment I worried it would be too orange for my fair skin, but I like the way it looks on me. It’s not too bold so it could be worn with an everyday look. Also, the NARS Audacious formula is by far one of my favourite lipstick formulas.
Urban Decay | Revolution Lipstick in Bang
This lipstick recently came into my life and was another that I was unsure how I would feel about. I got it on sale though when the Revolution Lipsticks were discontinued so I didn’t have much to lose. This lipstick is amazing. It’s a beautiful bold bright orange red. This shade is still available in the Vice Lipsticks range in the cream formula.
NARS | Audacious Lipstick in Angela
Another shade from the Audacious lipsticks and this one is beautiful too. It’s a pink orchid shade that l tend to wear a lot if I’m not feeling orangey. It pairs nicely with a basic neutral eye look and a pop of pink blush!
Tarte | Amazonian Butter Lipstick in Tulip
This is a great lipstick for slapping on when you want something hydrating and more like a coloured lip balm. It does have pigment to it but it’s more creamy and nourishing than what I normally wear. It’s great for putting on if you want to add a little colour to your lips at the cottage or doing some other outdoor activity where a bold matte lip would look out of place. I tend to wear it when I’m not wearing any other makeup. Tulip is a beautiful mauvey rose shade.
Colourpop | Lippie Stix in Scandy
Scandy is a bright neon pink that I love pairing with a simple summer dress. Add in slightly bronzed skin and some mascara and you have a makeup look right there! This lipstick does most of the talking so the rest of your makeup can take a backseat if it wants to. I love the Lippie Stix because not only is the quality and pigment is amazing but they are also super affordable. Shipping to Canada does leave something to be desired but, I’ve seen worse. Colourpop is so affordable that even with the exchange rate and shipping, you’re getting quality makeup for a great price!
Well, those are my top five lipsticks for summer! I would love to hear what your favourite shades are for the summer, so please let me know in the comments down below!
