Hi guys! Another month has flown right by! Don’t you find that time goes that much faster when it’s summer and the weather is beautiful? Before I know it, winter will come back with full force and I’ll be complaining again. You will never, ever, ever hear me complain about the heat in the summer. With that said, it’s time to discuss my July favourites!
Makeup
Violet Voss | Laura Lee Eye Shadow Palette
Oh. My. Goodness. This palette is amazing. Yes, yes, I love palettes, I tend to favourite a lot of palettes, but wow. These are the most buttery and pigmented shadows that I have ever had the joy of applying to my eye lids. I did a full review of this palette which you can find here, it includes swatches so if you’re curious to see if I’m exaggerating check it out! Violet Voss and Laura Lee did a fabulous job on this palette and it was worth every penny of the shipping and currency exchange from USD to CAD that I paid! This will be a treasured item in my makeup collection for sure.
Essence | Give Me BIG! Lashes Mascara
I jump around a lot with what mascara I’m currently using but as soon as I got this, I kind of forgot about the Revlon Dramatic Definition Mascara that I also have open. I’m not going to say too much about this mascara right now because I am planning on doing a full review of it, but I have worn this almost every single day of July!
NYX | Soft Matte Lip Cream in San Paulo
San Paulo is a plummy-pink shade that has a touch of rosieness to it. Just the colour alone is gorgeous! These also wear very well and for me, don’t feel super drying. I have used creamier matte liquid lipsticks, but this one didn’t bother me. I’ve been wearing this shade a lot this past month! You can see it swatched here! I’ll be going into more details about the wear time and formula in an upcoming Love for Lipstick post!
Skincare
Vichy | Idéal Soleil Ultra-Light Lotion
I talked about this product in this post and I must say it impressed me. I’m very fair skinned so SPF is important to me. This is a very light, almost watery in texture, lotion for your face that has a SPF of 50. It literally sinks right into the skin and has no effect on my makeup. There is no sticky feeling and it doesn’t make me any oilier than usual. Absolutely love it and it has been something I’ve been reaching for daily!
More!
Coleman Hell | Flower Child
Coleman Hell released another single in June and yet again, I’m impressed. He always knocks it out of the park and anytime I start to play one of my playlists, it always has to start with one of his songs first. This song has definitely been one that I’ve been listening to a lot this month.
So those are my July Favourites! I would love to hear what your July Favourites were so please let me know in the comments below!
Also, I hope all of my Canadian subscribers have a happy, safe and relaxing Civic Holiday!
xoxo,
Robyn

I’ll have to remember to pick up some Essence mascaras next time I’m at Shoppers. I just have to remember which kind people like – they offer so many options!
And that Voilet Voss palette – I remember oogling at it on your post but so pricey with the exchange rate. Are you planning on getting another one?

Yes, they do have quite a few! I couldn’t remember which ones I had seen people post about so I just grabbed the one that seemed to appeal to me the most, but I do want to try others.
I don’t have any plans to buy more Violet Voss at this time, but I definitely would. With exchange & shipping it probably came out to being about the same price as an Urban Decay Vice Palette and honestly the eye shadow quality is so much better! And, being that I loooove Urban Decay, that’s saying something! I haven’t done a direct comparison to how much shadow you get in each but they are both on the larger-side the palettes that are out there. I’ll have to take a look and see how they compare!
