Summer Trends: Graphic Eye

Kat-Von-D-Innerstellar-NYX-Vivid-Violet

Hi guys! I’ve been getting emails from Sephora inviting me to visit their website to explore summer trends and it got me really inspired. As soon as I saw them I really wanted to find a way to incorporate them onto the blog.

Today I’ll be tackling the “Graphic Eye” trend! A Graphic Eye seems to be an over-the-top almost animated looking eye makeup look. All of the examples I have seen have incorporated bold, unique eyeliner, whether it be a bold colour or drawn boldly. This isn’t showing on their #TrendingatSephora page anymore, but I still thought it would be interesting to talk about nonetheless.

For my take on this summer trend, I decided to simply add a twist to a look I would normally wear by adding bright purple winged liner. Many could say that winged liner isn’t anything unusual, but I very rarely wear it myself. I find it’s very much 50/50 whether or not it turns out so I often don’t do it because I don’t want to risk having to re-do my makeup. However, the NYX Vivid Brights Liquid Eyeliner I used made it a breeze! I was skeptical because I usually prefer a pen-style tip like the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner but, I ended up very impressed!

I was very happy with how this look came out as a whole. This is definitely a summer trend that I would revisit and play around with. I also tried to give this look an ethereal vibe. This is something the Kat Von D Innerstellar Palette seems to bring out of me. Can I also just say that my favourite lip combination for the moment is Essence In the Nude Lip Liner and Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Native? I don’t gravitate to nude lips but, this pink nude is my go-to lately. It goes with everything.

Have you tried the Graphic Eye summer trend? Let me know in the comments below! If not, have you been following any summer trends? I’d love to hear your favourites!

    • Aw thank you!! Yes, the NYX Liquid Liners are a brush tip. I didn’t think I would like it, as I prefer a pen-tip for liquid liner, but this was the most accessible/in-expensive bright coloured liquid liner that I could easily grab in town so my choices were slim. However, I was pleasantly surprised! Given that I am super-challenged at liquid liner, this worked really well!

    • Thank you!! I really feared going overboard so I tried to keep it as simple & glowy as I could! If you look up graphic eyes in Instagram there are some pretty “out there” looks, which I enjoy looking at, but are so not me at all!
