Mani Monday: Julep Sue & Jocelyn

Julep Polishes Sue & Jocelyn

Hi guys! I’m back with another Mani Monday! Today I’m using two Julep polishes that I won as part of a giveaway from the fantastic Canadian Beauty Blogger Classy on the Run. I hadn’t tried Julep polishes before so I was super excited to try these out! I won four Julep polishes so I chose to use two of them: Sue and Jocelyn.

Products Used:

OPI Nail Envy Maintenance
Julep Sue (1 coat on all except ring fingers)
Julep Jocelyn (1 coat on ring ringers only)
Glisten & Glow HK Girl Top Coat

Well, so far I’m pretty impressed! Both Julep polishes were one coaters. Sue leaves a bit of a visible smile line but it didn’t bother me enough to put a second coat on. You can’t tell on my picture but Sue has a flash of red to it which is really pretty and makes the colour more interesting! I can’t wait to see how well these wear!

Giving Thanks!

As some of you know. today is Thanksgiving here in Canada, so I wanted to quickly talk about what I’m thankful for this year. I am super, over the moon, thankful for my husband, who is supportive, the best travel companion I could ask for and is always making me laugh. Of course, there is also our furbabies, Max, Dex and Bunnelby, that I am always thankful for. Their cuddles, kisses and just all around great personalities always make my day. I am so thankful for my family, this year has had some serious ups and downs, but we’ve proved more than ever that we are there for each other. I’m also thankful for my wonderful friends – as I get older I truly discover who my real friends are and I can’t thank them enough. They are always there to listen, rant with and are always just straight up amazing to be around. I’m thankful for my health and well-being as well as for those that I care about.

Last but certainly not least, I am thankful for YOU! Thank you so much for reading, commenting and liking my blog. You are the reason I haven’t lost momentum or given up on this blog. Writing and working on this blog brings me to much joy so thank you for your support and for inspiring me to keep going. And, a special thank you to the blogging friends I’ve made over the past year and a bit. You’re all incredible and inspire me so much.

I hope you all have a wonderful day and Thanksgiving if you are celebrating today! And, of course, it wouldn’t be Mani Monday if I didn’t ask… what do you have on your nails today? Let me know in the comments down below!

xoxo,

Robyn

  1. Happy Thanksgiving!
Oooh, I love this! Neutral look with a splash of fall, haha. Can’t believe these are both one-coaters!
I’m currently wearing Essie Plumberry on my nails…haven’t decided if I like it or not :/ It’s supposed to be a pinkish-berry red, but just looks like a fire-engine red most of the time.

    • Yeah, definitely impressive! Hopefully the wear-time is impressive too! I’ll try to remember to do an update on instagram later on in the week.

  2. Loving that colour combination – so pretty! And I can’t believe those are one coat!

I had Essie’s Bobbing for Baubles on my nails for the last week or so and I just took it off today. It’s a deep blue shade and I loved it but man am I bad at apply deep polishes, I just can’t get a smooth application around my cuticles. Plus as much as I love Essie polishes, I hate their brushes.

    • Aw thanks! I’m in disbelief too about the one coat! I’m going to have to see if the other 2 I won are the same. Oooh I love deep blues too! Have you tried taking a tiny brush with nail polish remover to clean up the edges? I do that sometimes if the polish and/or brush didn’t cooperate! I think my method for application I’ve developed over the years helps too I think what I do is I start more towards the centre of the nail and push the polish closer to the edges. I’ll have to film it if I ever upgrade my camera equipment so that I can do videos again lol
