Hi guys! As I’ve probably mentioned a hundred times, Halloween is my favourite holiday. Nothing beats showing my inner geekiness and dressing up as a character that I love. A few years ago my husband and I dressed up as Ash and Pikachu from Pokemon. So, given the popularity of Pokemon Go this past summer, and the upcoming release of Pokemon Sun and Moon, I thought I’d take the costume out for a spin again and show you an easy way to do Pikachu makeup.

Now, in these pictures, I am not wearing my actual costume. I went to pull it out and it had stains on it, ugh! So, I’ll share some pictures from when I originally wore it at the end of this post.

Foundation: Maybelline FitMe Matte + Poreless in Porcelain

Working with face paint is hard! For my Pikachu makeup I used relatively cheap face paint that I must have got at a halloween store, so I’m not even going to bother listing the specific products I used. The circles on my cheeks and my nose are definitely not perfect, but I found the easiest way to apply the face paint somewhat easily was with my fingers, which isn’t really that precise. I tried brushes first but it applied the paint rather streakily.

If you’re wondering about the “ears”, I made them using bunny ears which I covered with felt using a glue gun. I didn’t even strip the bunny ears off, I just used a bit of tape to bind them together so that the fur doesn’t stick out.

To achieve the blended look of the gold shadow into the darker outer-v I actually applied Fortune Teller first all over the entire lid, and then patted Darkhorse onto the outer-v afterwards. This method really helped the two shadows that have quite different formulas blend together.

So that is my easy Pikachu makeup! This isn’t the costume I’ll be wearing out this year, I’ll reveal that on the 31st, I think I’ll be wearing this to work if the stain comes out of the rest of the costume. The costume itself is just leggings, a yellow tank with a felt tail sewn on and a yellow tutu. Super easy!
