Halloween 2016: Gamora

Hi guys! Happy Halloween! I’m super excited to share with you the costume that I wore this year… Gamora from Guardians of the Galaxy! I had a few different ideas floating around but Gamora really jumped out at me the most. I love the Guardians of the Galaxy movie and Gamora is such a strong and powerful character. My husband was Star-Lord from Guardians of the Galaxy.

I don’t really use a lot of face paint so, I cheaped out and ordered green face paint online. I should have done some research because this stuff was hard to work with. It dried very uneven so I had to build it up, and if my face got even the tiniest bit oily, the face paint would start to fade. At least the Halloween party I went to was dark, so after we took some pictures beforehand I wasn’t concerned about it.

To make the silver appear better, I took a tiny makeup brush and used some Garnier Micellar water to erase the green in those areas first. I didn’t get them as precise as I wanted to, but given the materials I was using I was happy with the results. I think if I did this again I would use a silver liquid eyeliner.

Products Used:

Transition/Crease: Kat Von D Shade + Light Eye Palette – Samael and Laetus
Lid: Urban Decay Vice 4 Palette – Grasshopper
Outer-V:Urban Decay Vice 4 Palette – Crowbar
Under-eye: Urban Decay Vice 4 Palette – Grasshopper
Highlight: Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector (Pressed) – Pearl
Lips: Colourpop Ultra Glossy Liquid Lipstick – Crystal Ball

I’m not normally one to wear glosses on my lips but Colourpop’s Crystal Ball was the most cost effective option. I was actually pretty impressed, it wore really well! It was sticky, but I don’t think I’ve ever worn a gloss that wasn’t.

What did you choose as a Halloween costume this year? If you celebrated I’d love to hear about your costume in the comments down below!
