Fall Trends: Jewel Tones

Hi guys! I don’t normally do a new post on Sunday’s but, I didn’t post one on Friday so here we are! This week was busier than I thought it would be but I wanted to take the time and chat with you about jewel tones! I’ve been noticing the past few months that jewel tones have been everywhere this fall and for good reason, they are beautiful! The beautiful thing about jewel tones is that they make you look glowy and as the weather gets colder and the days get shorter, I could use all the glow I can get!

Just based on my own makeup collection, when I think of jewel tones, my mind instantly goes to the Coastal Scents Glamour Eyes Palette! It’s a beautiful, super affordable jewel toned eye shadow palette. The shades are pigmented but yet super easy to work with.

Products Used:

Primer: Nivea Post Shave Balm in Sensitive
Foundation: Urban Decay All Nighter Foundation in 0.5
Concealer: Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer in Fair Neutral (under eyes) & Too Faced Born This Way Concealer in Very Fair (spot conceal)
Powder: Maybelline Mate + Poreless Translucent Powder
Blush: Too Faced Love Flush Blush in How Deep is Your Love
Contour: Anastasia Beverly Hills Fawn
Highlight: Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop & Becca Pearl (mixed)
Eyes: Urban Decay Primer Potion (original). MAC – Saddle (crease). Coastal Scents – Purple from the right side of the centre row (all over lid and inner part of under eye), Turquoise from the centre of the bottom row (blended into outer-v and outer part of under eye). Urban Decay 24/7 Eye Liner in Oil Slick (waterline). L’Oreal Telescopic Mascara (lashes).
Brows: NYX Eye Brow Gel in Blonde and L’Oreal Brow Sylist Plumper (clear)
Lips: Colourpop Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick in Beeper

Version 2

I was going to do a more colourful lip but it just seemed like too much so I went with Beeper from Colourpop as it’s a beautiful colour but yet kept the focal point on my eyes. I’m happy with how this look turned out, this is what I wore when I went out last night to celebrate my birthday (which is today!).

What are some of your favourite jewel toned products? Let me know in the comments down below! Jewel Tones is the Canadian Beauty Bloggers theme of the month so be sure to check out their posts which are lined at the end of this post!

  1. I love this look! I might try a purple eye look next week. I’ve been so stuck with my Project Pan products so it’s been 99% taupes / bronze colours. I might add a pop of purple just to jazz things up.
    That cheek highlight is hardcore!

    • I love a pop of purple with an otherwise neutralish look! Definitely one of my favourite ways to switch things up!

Haha, yeah, I tend to do an intense highlight when I’m playing with makeup on the weekend/know I’m going out.
