Hi guys! Maison Jacynthe was kind enough to send me some of their newly launched makeup items for review and after a few weeks of testing, I am ready to share my thoughts on them! They are a fairly new Canadian company, founded in 2014 by Jacynthe René who is an actress and a producer. Their makeup line launched on August 28, 2016 and is formulated with active and natural ingredients.
Maison Jacynthe: The Lipsticks
Being the matte lipstick lover that I am, I chose two of from this line to test. I’ve worn both of them extensively and have found the formula to be very consistent between the two shades. The formula is creamy and glides onto the lips when you apply it. There is no ‘dragging’ sensation that you may find with some matte lipsticks.
The pigmentation in these lipsticks is also quite impressive. I didn’t have to go back and put a second layer on my lips as one coat gave me full pigmentation. I should also note that they have a faint sweet scent.

I did a wear test using the Bordeaux shade that I received. For a matte lipstick in a tube, I found that it wore pretty well. I don’t find that traditional cream lipsticks tend to last as well as say, a liquid lipstick, in general. Even in the last check-in you can see that there is still some pigment left on the lips. Considering how much I ate and drank with this on that’s pretty impressive. Comparably, these lipsticks reminded me of the NARS Audacious line as they are also demi-matte and have a similar feel when applied. They also did not feel drying on the lips. So if you’re looking for a matte lipstick and don’t mind compromising wear-time for a creamy comfortable product then this is for you.
Since I didn’t do a wear-test with Cherise, I thought I would share a lip swatch of that as well!
Maison Jacynthe: Blush
I also found their blushes quite appealing, so I chose the shade Romeo to review. The shade looked a touch more pink on their online store, but I’m actually even more happy with what arrived!
While this blush is super pigmented, I found it blended quite nicely into the skin. I would just lightly tap my favourite blush brush (Morphe E4) into the product, tap off the excess and then blend it into my cheeks. The product has a faint sweet/earthy scent, it’s making the rest of my z palette smell fantastic!
Here’s a photo of me wearing the blush, as you can see it is the perfect fall shade! I’m very impressed with the wear time, it looks the same when I go to take it off in the evening as it did when I applied it.
Well, as you can tell, I am in love with these products. I’m already itching to purchase some of their eye shadows to test next! I’d also like to note that Maison Jacynthe is a cruelty-free brand and has joined PETA’s beauty without bunnies program. So, if cruelty-free beauty is your thing (or, just beauty in general) I’d recommend checking out Maison Jacynthe for some high-quality, natural products. Their website is in french, but they are working on translating it. In the meantime, I found google translate helped significantly!

These products were sent to me for an honest review, however, as always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
Both lipstick shades look great on you! And awesome that they lasted so well too.
That blush shade is pretty intimidating, isn’t it? But it is a great Fall colour. Looks great on you!

Thanks! Yeah I was super impressed with the wear time of the lipsticks. If there’s one quality I look for in a lipstick aside from pigmentation, it’s for it to be long-wearing.
Yeah that blush is intimidating in the pan but a light hand and the right brush makes application so easy!

I’m obsessed with their blush! I got the shade “Juliette” and it is my new favourite. I wasn’t fond of the lipstick color that I chose but I love Cherise! I was hoping mine would be more of that color.
