Hi guys! I can’t believe it’s this time of year already. As I write this, I can see the snow banks outside my house. So, in an attempt to try to be festive, I thought I’d share some of my favourite go-to holiday lipsticks. When those inevitable holiday parties and dinners come around, you can bet I’ll be wearing one of these!
NYX | Butter Gloss in Red Velvet
I am not a gloss person, but the holiday season tends to be a glossy, glittery and shiny time of the year. As far as glosses go, the NYX Butter Glosses are great because they pack on sheer to medium coverage and they don’t feel sticky. The shade Red Velvet is a beautiful cherry red and thus earns it’s spot in my go-to holiday lipsticks.
Too Faced | Melted Matte Lipstick in Lady Balls
Liquid lipsticks are everything to me so, it should be no surprise that I’ve got Too Faced Lady Balls on my list of top holiday lipsticks. I gave this lipstick a pretty rave review so it’s also just a favourite in general.
Colourpop | Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick in More Better
Stepping away from reds for a moment, I also love a good magenta shade to switch things up as the holiday season progresses. Colourpop’s description of this shade really hits the nail on the head, as they call it a “deep violet wine”.
Urban Decay | Revolution Lipstick in 69
Urban Decay’s 69 is described as a “cool red with a creamy finish” so if you’re not into mattes then this may be the shade for you! While the Revolution formula has been discontinued, the shade 69 is available in the new Vice formula. This is definitely one of my top choices for holiday lipsticks as I’ve worn it to several holiday parties.
MAC | Ruby Woo
This list of holiday lipsticks would be incomplete without the classic MAC Ruby Woo. While I’m not really a fan of the retro matte formula, it’s just SO stiff and drying, this classic blue red is a must. When I wear this, prepping the lips is so important so I do a little exfoliating first and put on a nice lip balm which I blot off before applying it. I usually do the lip balm thing before EVERY lipstick application but I use a heavier hand for this particular lipstick.

Lipstick on the Lake 
Wow, Too Faced Lady Balls!!! That’s a stunner. The Urban Decay 69 looks really nice too – formula looks creamy for a matte. Might be good for someone like me who’s not into mattes.

I think Urban Decay is one of their cream formulas so I don’t think it is matte. In the new formula for sure it’s one of the creamy ones 🙂

Yeah liquid lipsticks are definitely a personal preference! Most of the time they are my formula of choice! Mostly because of the wear time.
