Hi guys! I saw Happiness Highlights on two blogs that I read regularly, Stash Matters and Polished and Inspired and I loved the idea so much, I had to hop on the bandwagon too! Since I knew November was going to be an eventful month I thought it would be the perfect one to try this out with! My everyday life is pretty quiet, but through this task, I really thought long and hard about finding the happiness each day.
Tuesday, November 1
My husband got some really great work-related news, so we went out to the Caribou for dinner to celebrate! AND crab cakes were back on the menu and they were delicious! They did change them up a bit, they used to come with a spicy sauce, they have changed it up and have done a dill pickle tartare. I really enjoyed them, but I do still miss and prefer the original.
Wednesday, November 2
I finished reading I Let You Go by Clare Mackintosh! I haven’t been reading as much as I usually do so finishing this gave me a sense of accomplishment… plus it was a good read!
Thursday, November 3
Went out for lunch with a co-worker to Cindy Loohoo’s as an early birthday outing! Their soup of the week was borscht and it was soooo good!
Friday, November 4
Finished watching Stranger Things with my husband, we really enjoyed it! Can’t wait for season two.
Saturday, November 5
I can’t pick just one so I’m just going to recap my day… Went out for brunch with my husband and I tried the Brunch Poutine from Daytona’s. It was good but I still miss Made Fresh and their Breakfast Poutine (RIP 😢).
Then I went to watch my little brother play hockey and his team won! After that I went for dinner with my family to Chinese Express as an early birthday dinner. My sister spoiled me with some new makeup and the rest of my family spoiled me with a Sephora e-gift card so I partook in some VIB sale haulage.
Then finally, I went out with a few of my friends to celebrate my last moments of 26 and the first moments of 27! We ate some delicious wings and had a great time.
Sunday, November 6
Aside from it being my BIRTHDAY!! Woooo!! The weather was absolutely gorgeous. I went for a lovely walk around the Marina with my husband with my jacket off (so unusual for November in Thunder Bay) and we caught some Pokemon, haha!
Monday, November 7
I got to redeem my free coffee at Espresso Joya from my stamp card. I ordered my favourite, a Brown Sugar Cinnamon Latte and it was divine!
Tuesday, November 8
Watched Sunday’s episode of Westworld and loved it! If you’re not watching that show, you are missing out!
Wednesday, November 9
Started doing some home renovations with my husband – we finally primered the hall way!
Thursday, November 10
BIF NAKED! I went with my bestie to see her on her I, Bificus Songs and Stories Tour and the only thing I can say is “wow”. She played an intimate acoustic set with her husband on guitar and read excerpts from her memoir. I’ve looked up to Bif Naked and have been a fan for many, many years so this show meant so much to me. Afterwards she did a book signing so I was able to get my copy of the book signed and chat with her for a minute or two.
Friday, November 11
Had a few of my friends over for a very casual birthday get together. It was a really fun evening and so wonderful to see everyone!
Saturday, November 12
My husband and I had a relaxing day of binging Luke Cage on Netflix! We were both pretty tired from the late night before.
Sunday, November 13
My Sephora VIB sale order randomly arrived on a non-mail day and surprised me!
Monday, November 14
NICK CARTER!!! Oh my goodness. Definitely ranks high on my list of concerts I’ve been to. We were so close to the front and listening to his set list of his own music and some Backstreet Boys hits made me oh so happy!
Tuesday, November 15
I tried a new wine that a friend of mine suggested, 13th Street Burger Blend and it was soooo yummy!
Wednesday, November 16
I went to go see Doctor Strange with my husband and some friends. The visuals in this movie are out of this world!
Thursday, November 17
When I fed Bunnelby in the morning she was so excited she did a binkie! In case you don’t know what a binkie is… here’s a video for reference!
Friday, November 18
Pokemon Sun and Moon came out! My husband and I predownloaded it and then stayed up until midnight for the launch and squeezed in an hour of playing.
Saturday, November 19
Coleman Hell! The last stop on my week and a half of concerts and this one meant a lot to me. It’s so wonderful seeing him do so well and so surreal watching a sold out crowd go wild for him. Had a chance to quickly chat with him after the show and felt like running into an old classmate at the grocery store. He put on an incredible show!
Sunday, November 20
I had a really productive blogging day! I got quite a few posts scheduled and it felt so great.

Wednesday, November 30
Had a pretty amazing nap after work!
And that was my whole month! I really enjoyed doing this, really made me think hard to make sure I found some happiness in each day. I have a tendency to be a bit ‘glass half empty’ these days so this was a great exercise for me to start to return to my old optimistic self! I would definitely do this again.
I hope you all had a lovely November and have an amazing December!
