Mani Monday: Candy Cane Accent

Christmas Manicure Candy Cane Accent Nail

Hi guys! It’s that time of the week again and I’ve got another festive manicure for you today. In the attempting to be festive spirit, I’ve done a candy cane accent nail. This was quite easy to achieve and I really like the simplicity of it, but yet, it looks impressive (or at least I think so).

Products Used:

OPI Chip Skip
OPI Nail Envy Maintenance (1 coat)
OPI Haven’t the Foggiest (2 coats)
OPI Chick Flick Cherry (1 coat – accent nail, stripes)
OPI Gettin’ Miss Piggy With It (1 coat – accent nail, centre stripe)
OPI Don’t Mess With OPI (1 coat – accent nail, stripes)
Glisten & Glow HK Girl Top Coat (1 coat before stripes, 1  additional coat after stripes on accent nails)

To do this manicure, I applied my base products as usual and then did two coats of my silver polish (OPI Haven’t the Foggiest) followed by my top coat. Once I was absolutely sure that my nail polish was completely dry, I applied striping tape so that I could make my red stripes. This took six pieces per nail. When I was done with the red, I felt like the stripes were too far apart and added in the green stripes. For this, I just used a striping brush and free-handed them. If I could go back, I’d just free-hand the two smaller red stripes.

Overall, I’m in love with this manicure! I find the candy cane accent so striking. I’m continuing to think of a few more festive manicures that I can do for the holiday season.

xoxo,

Robyn

  1. That’s way too much work for me! I put on a glittery gold polish (China Glaze “I’m not lion”) I’ll probably do a glittery red for next week… and that’s festive enough for me! 😛
