January Favourites: Makeup, Skincare & More!

January Favourites

Hi guys! I can’t believe January is done and we are 1/12 through 2017! January was a great month though, I got back into a workout routine (after Christmas derailed the routine I got into in early December), there were quite a few celebrations over the course of the month and though it was stressful at times, I persevered. As I made my way through January there was, as always, particular products that I reached for most and truly were my favourites of the month. So, let’s chat about my January Favourites.

Makeup

Too Faced | Sweet Peach Palette

Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette

I picked up this palette when it rereleased mid-December and I have been using it religiously ever since. It truly was a staple in my makeup routine which confirms it’s rightful spot in my January Favourites. I did a full review with swatches and makeup looks right here.

Essence | Lash Princess False Effect Mascara

Essence Lash Princess False Effect Mascara

I like picking up a new mascara (or two) at the start of each quarter so I decided to pick up Essence Lash Princess False Effect Mascara after seeing it raved about on YouTube by Rachhloves. I do plan on posting my full thoughts on this mascara along with photos of it on, but I can tell you now that I am really enjoying it.

Annabelle | Skinny Brow Liner in Universal Taupe

Another product you haven’t seen me use on the blog yet! I am 100% committed to my Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow, however, there are times when I want something more natural looking. On a minimal makeup day I love using this brow pencil. It’s very thin so it creates natural hair-like strokes and the formula is quite nice to use. I picked it up on a whim a few months ago and didn’t really use it much until this month but I’ve been really enjoying it!

Skincare

Origins | Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask

My pores have been hating me lately and this mask has really helped keep any blackheads, sebum and breakouts at bay. I try to use it 1 to 2 times a week, although I don’t always remember to do it. When I do use it though, my skin feels fresh and clean afterwards without feeling too dry (though I’m oily so too dry isn’t something I often feel).

G-Eazy

My husband has got me hooked on G-Eazy! He started playing his music videos on YouTube while we had people over or were cleaning the house and I was converted. His music is just so catchy! I haven’t heard a song that I don’t like. My two favourites right now are ‘I Mean It (ft. Remo)’ and ‘Me, Myself & I (with Bebe Rexha). My playlist is now full of G-Eazy and I’m not complaining!

What were your January Favourites? Let me know in the comments down below!

  1. Hmm I might have to try that Essence Lash Princess False Effect Mascara – that packaging is so cute too!
I’ve used the Annabelle brow pencil before and it’s nice but it runs out so quickly.
Never heard of G-Easy… thanks for introducing me to him… so much swearing, my virgin ears! 😆

    • Yeah I’ve been really loving the mascara! My lashes look great! No clumping and I haven’t experienced any flaking or smudging. Much better after the clump-fest that my last mascara was!

    • Haha, I know what you mean. I’m attached to all things peach so I definitely needed it, good thing it’s a fantastic palette!

  2. Everytime I see someone post about the Sweet Peach palette I get a deep longing for it – trying to stay strong.

So many people like the Essence mascara but it smudged and flaked so bad on me, I was disappointed. Glad it works for you!

That Origins mask is amazing for blackheads, I use it once a week and I’m always amazed at it’s magic!

    • Haha, I stood no chance against the Sweet Peach Palette, but I have no regrets!

Too bad the mascara didn’t work for you, at least it was an inexpensive one! I think for that reason, I am sooo hesitant to purchase higher end mascaras. It’s so hard to tell what will work and what won’t as we all have such vastly different experiences with the same formula!

Yesss, the Origins mask is fantastic for blackheads and keeping the pores clean! Definitely has become a weekly staple!!
