Refresh and Reset Luxe Box

 Luxe Box Refresh and Reset

Hi guys! I’ve got a rather exciting post today as I’m sharing my first Luxe Box! A couple of days ago my wonderful husband surprised me with a randomly gifted Luxe Box. He mentioned that there was some kind of deal with American Express for this particular box so when he saw it, he thought of me. I’ve been stressed to the max lately so this random gift really lifted my spirits! If you are unfamilar with Luxe Box, they are a Canadian subscription box that ships on a quarterly basis. Shipping is free within Canada and each box contains seven deluxe sample or full sized items.

Makeup

L’Oreal | Voluminous Feline

I’m sure I’ve seen this mascara in-store but I haven’t heard much about it so I’m excited to give it a try. It claims to have a quick-charge brush (what does that mean?) which promises to capture each lash and deliver immediate volume and fullness to the lashes in one coat. It also claims to not smudge and remove easily with soap and water. I’ll be giving this a try shortly so I’ll keep you posted!

Smashbox | Photo Finish Pore Minimizing Primer

Although I’m quite familiar with this product (in seeing it online) and I think I do have a couple samples of it, I haven’t actually tried it yet! I do use pore minimizing primers on occasion in targeted spots on my face so I’ll be sure to be trying this soon!

ModelCo | Fairy Floss

Although I don’t use a lot of lip gloss in my usual routine, this gloss is really quite cute! It’s a shimmery sheer girly pink and it smells amazing. It has a fruity sweet smell to it and I really badly want to put this on my lips right now. I can tolerate wearing gloss, but my hair absolutely must be up. My hair stuck to gloss is such a pet peeve of mine. Swatched quickly on my hand it feels a bit sticky.

Skincare

Garnier | Micellar Water

I use the waterproof version of this daily but I actually haven’t tried the original! I’m really looking forward to trying this and comparing them!

Nature | Pure Vegetal Oil Base Soap with Fresh Goat’s Milk

I’ve seen these before in-store and they usually catch my eye. I’m always up for trying a new soap! It has a somewhat floral and fresh scent to it which is really quite appealing.

Elizabeth Arden | Superstart Skin Renewal Booster

Although I am not an expert on skincare by any means, I always enjoy trying out new products. This product claims to work holistically to restore your skin’s surface layer by strengthening it’s ability to repair and renew itself. It can be used both morning and night applied to clean skin, prior to applying serum and/or moisturizer.

Miscellaneous

 Luxe Box Refresh and Reset

Nexxus | Comb Thru Finishing Mist

This is a medium hold hair spray that can be used to finish a hairstyle or can be used to refresh, comb through and refinish by just using a fine misting. I use hairspray quite often to fight off frizz so I’m looking forward to giving this a try. Just based on sniffing the can (I don’t want to spray it in bed) it seems like there is at least a slight scent.

China Glaze | Pinking out the Window

This lovely pink nail polish is from the 2015 Road Trip Collection. It’s a very pretty pink shade and I’m quite tempted to put it on my currently bare nails! I don’t really have much luck with China Glaze but when I do wear this I’ll share it for Mani Monday!

Well, so far, my thoughts on Luxe Box are all quite positive. Aside from the lip gloss, these are all products I would use at some point during my routine. I’m not subscribed, but based on this, I would consider it in the future. Currently, I’m not subscribed to any boxes though.

Have you tried Luxe Box? If so, what are your thoughts on the service? If not, what is your favourite subscription box? Let me know in the comments below!

xoxo,

Robyn

  1. The L’Oreal Voluminous Feline looks interesting – looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it.
The original Garnier micellar water is good for removing non-waterproof makeup. I primarily use it as my 2nd step cleansing after I’ve used a cleansing oil to get rid of the stubborn makeup.
Sticky lip glosses are the worst… 😛
Nice box – it’s good that this is a quarterly box rather than monthly. I feel like monthly is too much.

    • Yeah I’m definitely tempted by the quarterly aspect of this box. I found the Ipsy bags eventually got a bit overwhelming so I unsubscribed.

  2. Such a nice gift idea! I’ve been wanting to try that mascara for a while but it’s going for something like $15 or $16 at Shoppers Drug Mart here and I just can’t bring myself to pay that much for a drugstore mascara!

    • Oh yes, $15 or $16 for a drugstore mascara… forget it! I’ll keep that in mind when I test it to see if it is actually worth it! Haven’t opened it yet though, but probably within the next month.

    • Hmm, I took my bottle of Garnier Micellar water on a road trip across the country and didn’t have any issues with it. Never have flown with it though, so I’m sure sure if that would be a different story!
