Top 5: Neutral Lipsticks

Hi guys! While I normally love rocking a bold, bright lip, lately I’ve found myself drawn to neutrals so I thought I’d take a peak through my collection and share with you the five that I have been wearing the most. To be honest, they are probably all similar in shade, but, that’s okay! I love them all for different reasons.

Urban Decay | Revolution Lipstick in Fiend

Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick Fiend

To start off this top 5 neutral lipsticks post, I want to talk about my beloved and now discontinued Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Fiend. This was the second Urban Decay lipstick I ever purchased when my world opened up to high end makeup and it holds a close place in my heart. This is definitely one of my default shades when I just want something simple but pretty. It’s a lovely muted rose shade.

NARS | Audacious Lipstick in Anita

If we are talking about my absolute most common default shade though… it would have to be NARS Audacious Lipstick in Anita. It is just a touch darker than Fiend and has a hint more brown to it. I really love the formulation of these lipsticks, they wear really well for a tube lipstick and I don’t find them drying at all. I can easily wear this all day.

Urban Decay | Revolution Lipstick in Native

Yes, another Urban Decay lipstick! But, this shade had to be mentioned. It is still available in the Vice formula, but it is an Urban Decay exclusive so you can’t pick this one up from Sephora. It is a beautiful pale pink shade in the cream formula. I can’t speak for the Vice version, but the Revolution one is very creamy and comfortable to wear on the lips.

Essence | Lasting Lipstick in Natural Beauty

Essence Natural Beauty

Essence Natural Beauty is another great neutral lipstick and definitely super affordable! I did a full wear test of this (paired with an Essence Lip Liner) that you can check out here! Swatched it looks fairly similar to Urban Decay’s Native, though it looks a bit less pigmented.

Anastasia Beverly Hills | Liquid Lipstick in Crush

Anastasia Beverly Hills Crush

And of course, I’ve got to add one of my beloved liquid lipsticks to this list! As far as neutrals go, I am obsessed with Anastasia Beverly Hills Crush! I keep meaning to do an actual wear test of this so I can do a Love for Lipstick post so I can show you how much I love this beauty. This liquid lipstick is a bit moussey in texture and I swear it goes with everything. It’s so simple but yet, I find it makes a beautiful addition to any look.

Robyn

Yeah my two favourites weren’t transferred over to the new line up which is such a shame! But thankfully I probably have many other similar shades haha

  3. The formula of the Revolution lipsticks was SO GOOD. I loved them. Fiend and Native were both too pale for me, which is crazy because they look so pink and dark when swatched! You’re lucky they work for you 🙂 I’ve heard so much about the Essence lipsticks, and they’re dirt cheap…really need to give them a try soon!

I miss the Revolution lipsticks so much! But, I do enjoy the Vice line so at least there is that!

You should definitely try some Essence lipsticks! Just make sure you look under the lid before you buy, I took one home to find it all smashed up inside… Rookie mistake!

Hi Robyn, from your collection I love Urban Decay Native.
But I have my own collection which I love to share with you, I LOVE PURPLE LIPS! For a long time, I thought purple only looked good on those with a darker complexion but I go through https://therightlipstick.com/ I read about, “which shade complement my skin tone”? and after that, I tried it, it became a staple in my makeup bag now.
But now after seeing your collection and I will gonna try Urban Decay Native and hope it suits me too.
