Hi guys! It’s been awhile since I’ve done a Love for Lipstick post so today I’ve got one featuring the Tarteist Creamy Matte Lip Paint in Adorbs! I picked this beauty up last month during the Sephora Spring VIB Sale and I’ve been testing it out ever since. I really love testing out new liquid lipsticks as I’m always on a quest to find the best wear times. I chose the shade Adorbs as it’s so bright and looks so summery. Plus, I didn’t already have any bright liquid lipsticks, bonus!
Formula
The formula of Tarteist Creamy Matte Lip Paint is a slightly thicker than I’m used to mousse-y formula. Application is really quite easy. Between the consistency of the formula, and the shape of the wand, I could easily get a nice clean, even application on the lips. The wand is a bit longer and less doe-footy than your typical liquid lipstick applicator. I thought this would make it harder to apply but this actually made it easier to get a precise application!
It has kind of a minty scent to it that wears off almost immediately after applying. I didn’t find it particularly drying, but it should be noted that I always wear a lip balm (blotted down) under all of my lipstick. I did find that it started to feel a bit drying 8 to 10 hours into the wear time but it didn’t really ever get uncomfortable enough to remove it. For the first half of the day though, my lips did feel moisturized. It does leave a bit of a stain, particuarly in the lines on your lips, so don’t plan a nude lip the next day!
Wear Time
8 AM | Freshly applied and ready to take on the day!
12 PM | Pre-lunch check in! This is after a morning of eating breakfast (yogurt parfait) and drinking coffee & water all morning.
1 PM | Post-lunch check in! This is after eating a small bowl of buttery fettuccini alfredo!
5 PM | After work… survived an afternoon of drinking more water and a very necessary afternoon coffee!
6 PM | After dinner… lipstick is still holding strong!
10 PM | Last check in before removal… still holding strong! A little faded but mostly still there!
Overall
Overall, I’m really impressed! Tarte really delivered on a great liquid lipstick! As you can see, I got over 12 hours of wear out of it which is incredible. It is worth noting, that although it wore super well, it does transfer. The transfer doesn’t seem to affect the pigmentation on your lips though. I found it really comfortable to wear and I love a lipstick that I can just apply and not worry about all day.
Have you tried the Tarteist Creamy Matte Lip Paint yet? Let me know what you thought in the comments down below! If not, what was the last lipstick you tried and loved? I’d love to check out your favourites!
xoxo,
Robyn
That is some impressive wear time! I have one of these in a MLBB kind of shade and it’s equally long-wearing. I’m not super into the very matte look, otherwise I think this product is fantastic! The fuchsia suits you perfectly.
