May Favourites: Makeup, Skincare & More!

June 2017 Favourites

Hi guys! I feel like during May I started to get my blogging groove back. I didn’t get back to 100% of where I was before, but I definitely posted a lot more regularly. I’ve definitely discovered a few new favourites over the course of the last month, as well as gave some old favourites some love as well. So, let’s dive into what I’ve been loving this past month!

Makeup

Tarte | Tarteist Creamy Matte Lip Paint in Adorbs

Tarte Creamy Matte Lip Paint Adorbs

I did a full review of this beauty as part of my Love for Lipstick series and I seriously cannot stop gushing about it. I got over TWELVE HOURS of wear out of it! Sure, my lips looked a bit dry by the end of the day (I wouldn’t normally wear lipstick that long but I had to know… for science!) but it really wasn’t that uncomfortable. But, again, I’ve said this a hundred times, keep in mind that I have a high tolerance for liquid lipsticks. All in all, love the formula and I love this bright pink shade!

Too Faced | Sweet Peach Palette

I’ve probably mentioned this so many times in favourites posts, but I pretty much wore this nearly every day this past month. So much so that I don’t think it even went back into the eye shadow palette drawer ever. It just sat up on my counter filling each day with a springy and fresh makeup look. My full post on this palette can be found here!

Urban Decay | Eye Shadow Primer Potion

Urban Decay Eye Shadow Primer Potion

This has definitely been a longtime favourite but I finally repurchased it so I have to talk about it. After trying other primers, I’ve definitely learned that this one is the one for me. It really helps keep my eye shadow on all day with no creasing or fading. I do have to set it before I start blending on it, but that one extra step is completely worth it. If I don’t use this specific primer, my eye lids will get oily and my eye shadow will turn into a mess by the end of the day.

Skincare

Garnier | SkinActive Micellar Water for Oily Skin

Garnier Micellar Water Oily Skin

I purchased this a month or so ago and I’ve been using it every day. I really love it for using in the morning as it helps mattify my skin to assist in my makeup wear-time. I don’t like it for end of day use to remove makeup as I find the one meant for removing waterproof makeup does a more efficient job. So, currently I am using both.

More!

Yves Saint Laurent | Black Opium

Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium

I purchased this during my Sephora Spring VIB Sale and I definitely do not regret it. This has become my daily go-to scent when I’m not at work. I just can’t get enough of this lovely floral scent.

The Martian by Andy Weir

I talked about this book in my last Love of Reading post and I can’t say enough how much I enjoyed it. The sense of humour that the main character has really makes it a very enjoyable read.

Paramore’s After Laughter

Paramore After Laughter

If you enjoy Paramore, I think you will love their new album. It has a bit more of an electronic/almost 80’s vibe to it so it is different from their previous releases. However, I have been listening to it a lot and have really been enjoying their musical evolution.

What products have you been loving this past month? Let me know in the comments down below!

Robyn

  1. I didn’t know Garnier made a micellar water for oily skin. That might be a good one for the summer months!
My SO read The Martian in a few days and he loved it too. And he loves the movie… every time it’s on, he watches it!

    • The Garnier micellar water for oily skin I think is new to the last few months. I’ve really been liking it! I find it helps my makeup last a bit longer. Definitely great for prepping the skin before applying makeup!

I really enjoyed the movie for the Martian as well as the book. I liked the book a bit better but Matt Damon did a great job with the role!
