Hi guys! I’m back with another Mani Monday and this week, I felt like doing some simple nail art. To add a bit of fun to this beautiful teal manicure, I added in layered polka dots. Any time I do a look like this I’m pleased with the results and thankfully it doesn’t take long to achieve. Polka dots always make me so happy when I glance down and see them on my nails! For my base shade I used OPI Amazon Amazoff which is from the 2014 Brazil Collection and appears to still be available as it was rolled into the regular lineup.
OPI Chip Skip
OPI Nail Envy Original (1 coat)
OPI Amazon Amazoff (2 coats + dots)
OPI Alpine Snow (dots)
Cult Nails Wicked Fast Top Coat (1 coat)
Double Ended Dotting Tool
I probably sound like a broken record but polka dots are by far my favourite nail art to do. They are simple, pretty much any one at any skill level can do them and they just look so fun! OPI Amazon Amazoff is a nice cream polish that was quite easy to work with. It was just short of a one-coater and had a nice consistency to it. There was no pooling at the cuticles or anything like that while applying. Not to mention, OPI Amazon Amazoff is a straight-up beautiful colour!
Any time I add polka dots to a manicure I always make sure I let my base shade dry a bit longer than I normally would between layers. This ensures that you won’t accidentally knick that layer with the dotting tool or have the two wet polishes combine. I like to put something on YouTube or Netflix when I do my nails to distract myself so I’m not impatiently staring at them waiting for them to dry.
What do you have on your nails today? Let me know in the comments down below! I’m still using my old bottle of Cult Nails Wicked Fast as a top coat. I need to get around to purchasing a new top coat soon, I’d love to hear what your favourite top coat is! Right now I’m leaning towards trying some Orly products. But, as always, I’d love to hear your suggestions!
