Hi guys! I recently went to Wisconsin Dells (basically a city full of Waterparks) and decided it would be a great opportunity to test out some waterproof makeup! Makeup-wise I didn’t want to wear much, but I always feel naked without my brows and lashes so I stuck to this brow gel and a waterproof mascara. I hadn’t tested the waterproof-ness of the NYX Eyebrow Gel before this trip so I really had high hopes for it. I figured some intense waterslides would make for excellent and thorough testing of it’s capabilities.
The NYX Eyebrow Gel is a highly pigmented gel that keeps brows in place while also giving them a thicker appearance. To me it seems very similar to Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow except in a tube and it keeps my brows a little more in place. To apply it a put a tiny dot on my hand (that’s all you need) and I apply with an eyebrow brush. Since the NYX Eyebrow Gel is super pigmented, I start at the tail and work my way to the front when I have less product on my brush. There is a bit of a learning curve since this stuff is intense but once you get the hang of it, you are golden.
The above photo was taken on just a regular work day, I didn’t have my camera with me on my trip so I couldn’t do before and after photos my tests. However, I still wanted to show you what it looks like on.
Waterproof-wise, I am pretty impressed! While it faded just a tiny bit, this stuff lasted through an entire day of waterslides. The slight fading wasn’t that noticeable unless you knew my brows had been slightly darker earlier. Just as a point of reference, this is one of the slides that the NYX Eyebrow Gel survived:
The water pressure was pretty intense at the beginning and end. My eyes, nose and mouth were full of water, but my brows still looked nearly perfect!
So overall, I think the NYX Eyebrow Gel definitely delivers on it’s waterproof promise and would be perfect for a day at the waterpark, pool or beach! Best of all, it is affordable!

I had a lighter shade when my hair was a different colour and I didn’t realize that whole time it was waterproof. Definitely a huge bonus, especially in the summer!

I’m scared of these types of brow gels ever since I tried the MUFE one and I looked like a mean, crazy person! I just like a softer look, I guess. And so impressive that this survived that water slide – the ultimate wear test! 😀

It’s definitely a preference things. My first couple goes with a brow product like this was scary but I got the hang of them. I definitely prefer the more defined look with my brows.
