Halloween is hands down my favourite holiday. Nothing beats dressing up in a costume and going out. Usually I purchase a costume, but this year I thought I’d try something different and put the costumes together myself. I have to say, Instagram was a huge inspiration for this. Between seeing so many posts of galaxy makeup and zombie makeup I had a lot of ideas swiming around my head. My galaxy costume was my main costume this year and I spent my weekends working on it. Since I was going out twice, I also decided to do the zombie costume after seeing what my sister had planned for that night. So, let’s take a look at my costumes, shall we?
Night 1: Galaxy Costume
For my galaxy costume I knew I wanted to get a black body suit and sponge paint it. The skirt was a spontaneous add-on when I went to buy the body suit. This also gave me something to adhere my planets to. The planets were all hand-painted on styrofoam balls and velcroed to the skirt. I am shocked that I only lost one planet when I wore this out. Funny enough I lost Earth, so I’m working on re-painting it so I can wear this again on Tuesday.
It’s kind of hard to tell in the photo, but my super shiny-highlight face is supposed to represent the sun!

Night 2: Zombie Costume
I’ve never really done a scary or gory costume before so I was really excited about this zombie makeup look. I did the makeup for this look and my talented sister created the wounds for me. As you can see from her makeup look below, she has some serious skill! She was getting compliments all night on her makeup look.

Well done on the makeup on both! Halloween is such a fun time to get creative with makeup. 🙂 I don’t do anything at all, except eat lots of candy. 😆
