Blue lipstick – I have to admit it is something I never thought I would wear in a million years. The thought just seemed so foreign to me. I’m no stranger to purple lipstick but blue just seemed so “out there” so I never really gave much thought to it. However every time I saw a photo online of someone else wearing it I started to become more and more intrigued. I don’t recall how it came up but my bestie and I ended up chatting about this and decided we needed to have a “blue lipstick night”. The plan was simple, wear a blue lipstick and go downtown.
As the night grew closer I acquired my weapon of choice – NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in the shade Jet Set. I was a bit nervous about the idea of wearing blue lipstick out as I haven’t really ever seen anyone else wearing it when I’ve gone out in the past. But, we were in this together!

I can’t describe it but there was something so liberating about wearing blue lipstick out. We ended up going to a night club and it was such a fun night! I didn’t once think about the fact that I was wearing blue lipstick, nor did we attract any funny looks. There was something about it that made me feel overall more confident. A side effect I wasn’t really expecting but a happy surprise!

I love this so much! Good on you guys for teaming up to wear it to get over the initial jolt of wearing such a bright shade! Also love the combo you came up with – the KVD shadow topper works so well!

I think the “crazy” lipstick colours are gaining wider acceptance. I have seen people wearing green / blue lipsticks in down town Toronto during lunch hour on a weekday. I always chalk it up to maybe people working at MAC or Sephora though, who knows. 😛

It wasn’t as scary as I thought it would be. I don’t see a lot of “out there” lipstick shades here but we didn’t really get any strange looks. It was fun and I’d definitely do it again!
