Kat Von D Everlasting Glimmer Veil launched a few months ago and instantly was a product that intrigued me. The combination of a long-wearing liquid lipstick and glitter seemed like a natural choice for me. The shade range is all bold and beautiful and they can be layered over other lipstick making it very versatile. As you have probably already guessed, today’s Love for Lipstick post will be diving into the Kat Von D Everlasting Glimmer Veil in the shade Thunderstruck. The shade Thunderstruck is described as a “champagne with pink and gold glimmer”. This seemed to be the most neutral shade in the lineup and therefore seemed like the one I could get the most use out of on a regular basis.
The Kat Von D Everlasting Glimmer Veil comes in a tube that is both shorter and wider than her regular Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks. The applicator is a bit different as well, instead of your standard doe-foot has a bit of a curve to it. I’ve found it to be very easy to use to get a nice, clean application.
The product itself is really quite pigmented so you have to make sure you apply a thinner layer if the result you are hoping for is a more layered look. It dries down quite quickly and feels like your standard liquid lipstick on the lips. It is a bit drying but no more so than the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick. I don’t mind it, but if you have a low tolerance for liquid lipsticks do keep that in mind.

- 8 AM – Freshly applied
- 12 PM – Pre-lunch (ate breakfast between photos)
- 12:30 PM – Post-lunch (ate an oily salad for lunch)
- 5 PM – After work, final check in
I’m pretty impressed with the way that this wore. A little bit came off after eating an oily salad for lunch, but it was hardly noticeable in person. On other occasions that I’ve worn it and not ate something oily, it survived eating a lot better. I don’t think many lipsticks would hold up to an oil based salad dressing. In the photos above I have layered it over Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita.
Overall, I’m very pleased with the Kat Von D Everlasting Glimmer Veil and would definitely purchase a few other shades. There’s a lot of fun ones so I’m a bit torn on which one I’d like to grab next.
