Well, as today is the last day of National Blog Posting Month (NaBloPoMo) that also means that it is the last day of the challenge! For those who didn’t know, I participated in the challenge which meant posting 30 posts this month, one for every day of November. This is far above my usual 3-4 posts per week but I was up for the challenge and I succeeded! What made this challenge extra challenging was the fact that I’ve been sick since the first of the month! Luckily I had prepared some posts in advance of the month started, had a schedule planned and was still able to chip away at working on posts when I was feeling better. So today, I want to talk a bit more about this past month, what I learned and so on.
First off, I learned that to do a challenge like this, I had to have a plan in place before committing to it. I usually have a calendar of my planned posts, but typically I’m only planning each week at a time. This time, I planned the whole thing up front. But with that said, I remained flexible and did deviate my plan as I got other post ideas or had other inspirations. I’m going to continue this as I go back to my regular posting schedule and keep this flexible organization system going.
I also learned that while I do go through periods of writer’s block, or just periods where I’m less inspired to blog, I can get through it. Of course there were times when I wanted to throw in the towel and go back to my regular schedule but I persevered and I’m so proud of what I’ve accomplished. Some of the content I produced was outside of my comfort zone and I’m so glad that I did it. I think knowing that there were other ladies in the Canadian Beauty Bloggers group participating kept me going.
Though I’m proud of all of the posts that I worked on this past month, there are a few that stand out to me. They are:
All in all, I would happily participate in this challenge again next year and if you blog, I encourage you to give it a try too! It’s kind of daunting but it was a lot of fun! To all of the other Canadian Beauty Bloggers who participated and made it to the end, congratulations!
Have you ever participated in the NaBloPoMo Challenge? Let me know in the comments below!

I loved this recap so much! I feel with a schedule like NaBloPoMo it REALLY forces you to get through the writer’s block. Because it doesn’t matter if you’re uninspired, you’ve got shit to get out the door, you know?
Good on you for keeping it up even though you were sick. Major props for dedication!

Only time I ever blogged consecutively for a month straight was during Blogmas and you’re right – planning is key. And yes, having allies also doing the same thing does help to motivate.
Congrats on completing the NaBloPoMo Challenge!
