Q4 Empties: October to December 2017

Q4 Empties

I’m a bit late on posting my final empties for 2017 but they have been sitting under my vanity and I am ready to get rid of them. A lot of these are repeat offenders but I do have a few new empties as well. I thought it might be easier to separate out the repeats so that I’m not boring you guys in each empties post. So, with that said, let’s check out what I emptied during the last quarter of the year!

Empties Q4

Makeup

Empties Makeup

Revlon | Mega Multiplier Mascara

I was sent this item in an Influenster Vox Box complimentary for review and spent a great deal of time testing it out and wearing it regularly. It was probably at the end of it’s reign when I did my last empties post but I wasn’t quite ready to get rid of it yet at that point. You can read my full review on the Revlon Mega Multiplier Mascara but essentially, I did enjoy using it. Would I repurchase it? While it probably isn’t my favourite drugstore mascara, I would probably repurchase it at some point. Especially if I saw it on sale!

Cover FX | Mattifying Primer with Anti-Acne Treatment

I got a sample of this probably as part of a Sephora order or something. I only got a few uses out of it so it is so hard to give comprehensive thoughts on it. It was a nice lightweight primer and my makeup wore pretty well when I did use it. Would I repurchase it? Maybe. I’m really enjoying the Too Faced Primed & Peachy Cooling Matte Perfecting Primer but if I’m out of that by the time the spring Sephora sale rolls around I might give it a go to give it a real test.

L’Oreal | Voluminous Lash Paradise

I’m surprised I didn’t do a full review of this mascara as it was my go-to for months. Long story short, I loved this mascara! I loved the way it looked on my lashes, the brush was great and it didn’t flake or smudge on me. I haven’t used Too Faced Better than Sex Mascara in quite some time but it really did remind me of it. With this mascara, I feel less compelled to buy Better than Sex in the future as I’m quite content with this drugstore alternative! Would I repurchase it? Definitely!

Skincare

Skincare Empties

Simple | Micellar Make-Up Remover Wipes

I’ve been buying these to keep around for those nights where I just want something simple to remove my makeup and lightly cleanse my face. They do a good job at removing my makeup quickly and in one simple step and are very reasonably priced. I keep finding them on sale so I don’t think I’ve ever paid full price. Would I repurchase them? Yes! As you can see, I emptied TWO packs!

Olay | Age Defying Classic Night Cream

Interested in trying something new for a night cream, I picked up the Olay Age Defying Classic Night Cream. It was reasonably priced and I found that it did a good job at fading some of the fine lines on my face. It also absorbed quite quickly once applied. Would I repurchase it? While I haven’t yet, I definitely will!

The Repeats

Repeat Empties

I’m not going to go into detail on these products as I’ve emptied them many times over the course of writing these posts. They are all staples in my routine and yes, I would repurchase them all!

  • St. Ives Green Tea Scrub x2 (only one photographed as it is hard to get to these before my husband, who also uses it, tosses it on me)
  • Garnier Micellar Water (Waterproof Makeup Version)
  • Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder
  • L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation x2
  • Olay Complete All-Day Moisturzer (Combination/Oily)
  • Batiste Dry Shampoo – Original Scent (I must have emptied more than one of these as I use it almost every day)

What product have you recently emptied? Would you repurchase it? Let me know in the comments down below!

xoxo,

Robyn

  1. I haven’t heard of a single negative review of the L’Oreal Lash Paradise mascara. It’s so good!
I think in the next Sephora VIB sale I’m going to pick up the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder. I’ve only had the under eye powder before which I loved and have repurchased.

  2. I tried that Revlon mascara too but I wasn’t that impressed with it – same with Lash Paradise! I have a really hard time trying to find mascaras that don’t flake on me – it’s so frustrating!

Great job on all your empties!

    • That does sound frustrating! I don’t usually get any flaking with mascara. It’s so strange how different our eyes react to the same products. It makes reviewing so hard!
