January Favourites: Makeup, Skincare & More!

January Favourites 2018

January was a pretty great month. I started off the month (and the year) in Paris, France with my husband so the rest of this year is going to have a hard time stacking up to January. I started getting into experimenting with makeup a bit more again, trying out a few different looks which I’ve posted here. It’s going to be a great year, I can just feel it! But, on that note, let’s take a look at which products were getting the most love in January!

Makeup

January Favourites Makeup

Zoeva | Cocoa Blend

I picked up this palette from Sephora in Paris since I haven’t really seen it in Canada but I’ve seen it all over YouTube over the past few years. It is definitely more of a neutral palette, but what drew my eye to it was the purple shade, Delicate Acidity. I posted a look using the Zoeva Cocoa Blend Palette last week mixing it’s warm and cool tones. I’ve been using it a lot this month and have been really enjoying it. I’ll be sure to dedicate a post to it and swatch it soon!

Tarte | Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed

I’ve had Tarte’s Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed for awhile now but it was one of my most used blushes this past month. I love this nude pink shade as it is so versatile but adds a nice touch of colour to my cheeks.

Tarte | Creamy Matte Lip Paint in Birthday Suit

I finally cracked opened this mini from last year’s Sephora Birthday gift and I have been wearing this so much! As the name suggests, Birthday Suit is a nude shade. It just adds a touch of colour to the lips when you want to leave them relatively understated. I’m going to have to pick up a full size of this beauty!

Urban Decay | Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner in Glamrock

I loooooove silver glitter so I had my eye on Urban Decay’s Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner in Glamrock. I finally purchased it in December and I’ve been experimenting with it a lot this month. I used it both in my Glitter Eye Makeup Look and Mixing Cool Tones and Warm Tones Makeup Look. It applies very smoothly to the lid and can be built up to get your desired level of glittery-ness.

Skincare

Naked Kitty Naturals | Lip Balm in Peppermint

I always use a clear lip balm in the morning before I apply my lipstick so I was excited when my bestie gave me the Naked Kitty Naturals lip balm in the Peppermint. It applies smoothly to the lips and makes them feel nice and hydrated! I also have one of the tinted ones that I keep in my purse and apply regularly.

First Aid Beauty | Ultra Repair Cream

My hands have been SO dry lately, like SUPER dry. This hand cream has been giving my hands life. Just a small amount brings hydration back to my dry sore hands and it absorbs quite quickly as well!

Mugs

I love mugs, I’ve accumulated quite a collection of them over the past couple of years. The mugs pictured above were all received as gifts for Christmas and I just love them! My favourite of course is the custom mug my parents got for me with my blog logo on it!

What were some of your favourites during the month of January? Let me know in the comments below!

xoxo,

Robyn

  1. Oooh so jealous that you got to pick up Zoeva in Sephora Paris! It’s very expensive to ship to Canada (I’ve tried!) and I’ve had my eye on it for ages.
I just found a tube of the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream (unopened) in my cupboard. I need to open it! It’s been so dry lately…
Your mug with you blog logo is AWESOME!!!

I’m really kicking myself for not getting a 2nd Zoeva Palette to giveaway, I didn’t really expect to do any makeup shopping while I was there (😱 I know!) but I stumbled into a Sephora while we were in between sight-seeing so I was totally unprepared!

And thank you, my parents got me a set of the mugs so I have a few scattered around, I love them! I beam with pride when I use them!

  2. I love the Zoeva Cocoa Blend palette. And the logo mug is so cool!

It’s just a great palette! And thank you, I love the blog logo mug, it’s so special!

  3. Love the FAB Ultra Repair Cream – it totally gets me through the Winter months without lizard hands.

I love that your parents made you a custom mug with your blog logo on it – what a great gift! I have a bit of a mug fetish too.

Haha, funny enough, this is the tube I won in your giveaway last year! It’s such great stuff!!

Mugs are so much fun, I told my husband I want a cupboard with glass doors in our next house/kitchen so I can display my mugs for everyone to see 😂

  4. Those little Tarte blushes are fab! Love the blog mug too!
