Colourpop recently launched a full lineup of Lux Lipsticks which are in a creamy matte finish. They are said to not bleed or feather, as well as be long-wearing. They look more like a traditional lipstick instead of the longer, skinny format that they used for their Lippie Stix. Needless to say, I was pretty excited to start trying them out and am ready to share my thoughts on them! I picked out two shades – Pinkies up and Humble Pie. This review will feature the shade Pinkies Up which is a dusty mid-tone mauve.
The packaging is a sleek rose gold coloured tube with little stars added for decoration. I think these tubes are really cute and definitely look more “lux” than their previous launches. The stars embellished on the actual lipstick inside the tube are a really cute touch as well. They do however attract finger prints like crazy.
The formula of the Colourpop Lux Lipstick literally glides onto the lips effortlessly. It delivers full pigmentation in one swipe and is very easy to control when applying. Sometimes I find cream formulas hard to get a nice clean application because of the slip, but this formula didn’t really have that issue. As promised, it didn’t bleed or feather which was nice because I almost never use a lip liner.

The Colourpop Lux Lipstick definitely kept it’s promise for a long-wear time as well. While wearing it the product definitely felt weightless and at times, I forgot I was even wearing lipstick. Generally if I don’t reapply a little bit of lipstick after lunch my lips start to look a bit dry, even if I don’t feel it, but that isn’t really the case here. They still look pretty decent at the end of the day and most of the lipstick is still present and accounted for on my lips!
Overall, I’m really impressed! They managed to create a satin finish lipstick that lasts long, feels comfortable and doesn’t bleed or feather. I do have another shade, but I would definitely be inclined to purchase another Colourpop Lux Lipstick or two next time I place another. Best of all, this lipstick is costs a grand total of $7 USD!!!! They are also vegan and cruelty-free.

I am so impressed by the wear time on these lip sticks. The packaging is beautiful and for $7USD it’s still more affordable than other drugstore lips here in Canada! I haven’t picked any up yet but I know I definitely will be buying some in the future!!
