I purchased the Philosophy Purity Made Simple Ultra-Light Moisturizer as part of my skincare-centric spring VIB sale haul. I read a few reviews on the Sephora website from people who had claimed it worked well with their oily skin so I took a leap of faith and decided to try it out for myself. It claims to be good for all skin types and is said to be a solution for dryness, pores and dullness/uneven texture. So does it hold up to what it promises? Let’s find out!
The first thing I noticed about the Philosophy Purity Made Simple Ultra-Light Moisturizer is the pump which makes it easy to get the product out of the generously sized bottle. The product once dispensed has a very light scent which disappears quickly after application. If you’re familiar with the scent of their cleanser it is very similar. It reminds me of lemons and herbs.
While we are talking about application, I find that a little bit goes a long way and absorbs quickly into the skin. My face feels hydrated but not sticky at all when I’m ready to start applying my makeup. My makeup applies smoothly and evenly over the canvas that this product creates. I have oily skin so it does get shiny throughout the day but I didn’t find that this moisturizer sped up that process like some tend to.
While I don’t know if my pores have benefited from the Philosophy Purity Made Simple Ultra-Light Moisturizer yet, I have noticed that my skin feels hydrated throughout the day and the texture is looking pretty good. While I do wear foundation and concealer 99% of the time, I feel a bit better about how my skin looks without it since starting to use this product.
Overall, I’m pretty happy with this purchase! I think it has pretty good value for how much you get, it gets along with my oily skin and it makes my skin look nice. What else could I ask for in a moisturizer?
