I have been dying to sit down and make time to write this empties post considering Q2 ended a couple of weeks ago. My husband has asked me more than once if I’ve wrote it yet so I can throw out my garbage (blogger husband problems?), haha! If you follow me on Instagram you already know why I’ve been absent a lot lately. However, if you do not… I recently announced that my husband and I bought our forever home so we have been busting our asses finishing the renovations/updates to our current house.
Needless to say… I haven’t had a lot of time to test out new products or even sit down to write a post and edit photos. However, I gotta get this garbage out of my house so let’s chat about my Q2 empties!
Q2: April to June 2018
Essence | Lash Princess Sculpted Volume Mascara
I typically love Essence mascaras and I certainly loved the last Lash Princess one that I tried. However, Sculpted Volume was a miss for me. It left my lashes looking clumpy and weird. Would I repurchase it? There’s many Essence mascaras that I would buy again but this unfortunately was not one of them.
Quo | Blending Sponge
I have used many of these in the past but I couldn’t remember if I’ve put it in my empties before so that’s why it’s here instead of under repeats. The Quo Blending Sponge is a great and affordable blender for foundation and concealer. Would I repurchase? Yes! I have a new one on the go right now!
Shiseido | Ultimune Power Infusing Concentrate
I received this as part of an Influenster Campaign in the travel size so I’ve been using it sporadically as part of my night-time routine. It feels nice and my skin seems to agree with it but I just don’t know if it is worth the high price tag. Would I repurchase it? I’m going to say no for now but… I’m open to it if I was to get it on sale.
GLAMGLOW | Dreamduo Overnight Treatment (Step 1 & 2)
I got these two sample sizes of the GLAMGLOW Dream Duo Overnight Treatment as part of a set that I redeemed Sephora points for. I’ve been using it during my nightly routine and it does make my skin look less dull. I like how it is two steps in one container as well! Would I repurchase? It’s pricy but I’d consider it during a Sephora VIB sale.
GLAMGLOW | Supermud Clearing Treatment
This is by far one of my favourite charcoal masks. I’m not going to say much about it as I’ve already reviewed Glamglow’s Supermud here on the blog. Would I repurchase it? Absolutely!
Laneige | Water Bank Moisture Cream
I used Sephora points I believe to get this deluxe sample of the Laneige Water Bank Moisture Cream. I like it for night time as it is a nice, thick cream. I don’t usually use a cream like this for day time as my skin is pretty oily. Would I repurchase it? Probably not. It was nice but didn’t wow me. If I saw it again in the Sephora Beauty Boutique I might use points for another deluxe sample though. It’s nice for travel.
L’Oreal | Revitalift Bright Reveal Brightening Peel Pads
I got this as part of an Influenster campaign quite awhile ago. I used it for a bit and then forgot about it. The pads have since dried out so it’s time for this to go. I reviewed all of the products that I was sent as part of the campaign here: L’Oreal Revitalift Bright Reveal. Would I repurchase it? Probably not. While I liked the products they aren’t really designed for oily girls like myself. If I was going to add saturated pads to my routine I’d probably add something more purifying.
Fresh | Soy Face Cleanser
I picked this up during the Sephora Spring VIB Sale and am kicking myself just at tiny bit for only getting the travel size. I love this stuff! I have never seen a cleanser remove my makeup like this. I really like that on lazy nights I just need to wash with this as step 1, rather than remove my makeup with a micellar water first. Would I repurchase it? Definitely!
Garnier | Whole Blends Colour Care Shampoo & Conditioner
I’m still a Joico girl but I’ve been using the Garnier Whole Blends products in attempt to be a bit more economical with my hair routine. These were great and left my hair very soft after use. However, my hair has been way frizzier since I stopped using Joico Smooth Care so I’ve switched to a smoothing formula of the Garnier Whole Blends that I’m trying out now. Would I repurchase it? Yes, but in a different formula.
Soap & Glory | Sugar Crush Fresh & Foamy Body Wash
I actually purchased this last summer at Ulta and it lasted me until about… the end of May? I can’t believe how long this lasted but it’s a pretty big bottle and the pump prevents me from using too much at once. I love the citrusy fresh scent and it left my skin feeling so nice! Would I repurchase it? Yes! I need to get over to Shopper’s Drugmart one of these days to pick up another one. I like it way better than any body wash that I’ve used since.
OPI | Nail Envy Original
I’ve definitely emptied a few of these in the past but I can’t remember if I’ve talked about it on the blog or not. OPI Nail Envy has saved my nails. They are strong and grow to be quite long before any breaks occur. I tend to switch between this and the “Maintenance” formula depending on what my nails need. It isn’t good to over use this product as if you over strengthen your nails they end up brittle in the sense that there isn’t much flexibility to them. Would I repurchase it? Yes! It’s been my go-to for years
I’m not going to go into detail on these products as I’ve emptied them many times over the course of writing these posts. They are all staples in my routine and yes, I would repurchase them all!
- St Ive’s Green Tea Scrub x2
- Marc Anthony Hydrating Coconut Oil & Shea Butter Curl Cream
- Marc Anthony Strictly Curls Curl Envy Perfect Curl Cream
- Nivea Purifying Toner
- Garnier Micellar Water (these tiny ones are amazing for travel!)
