Five Neglected Eyeshadow Palettes

Neglected Eyeshadow Palettes

After an evening of cruising YouTube, a video by fellow Canadian Beauty Blogger and superb YouTuber, Chelle of Makeup Your Mind caught my eye. These days a unique video topic on YouTube is pretty far and few between but somehow she always manages to keep it fresh! The video that caught my eye this time was her 5 Neglected Palettes I’m Using This Autumn video. If you haven’t watched it, I highly recommend it. It really got me thinking about my neglected eyeshadow palettes and which ones I am going to make an effort of using more this fall.

Neglected Eyeshadow Palettes

Colourpop | Hi-Maintenance Palette

The first palette that came to mind was Colourpop’s Hi-Maintenance Palette. It is a quad of their pressed eyeshadows which I really really enjoyed using but haven’t used much in the last year. Granted it’s only four shadows, which is probably why it’s been neglected (I prefer larger palettes), the quality of the eyeshadows is great!

Morphe | 35O Palette

The Morphe 35O is a fantastic and pretty well-known palette that sold out like crazy when it was first launched. It is definitely worth the hype but for some reason I just haven’t used it very much and it has nothing to do with it’s quality. I think it’s just because of where I store it in my vanity, it isn’t in my main drawer due to it’s size. It’s so perfect for this time of year so I am going to be rocking this a LOT lately. It deserves to be used.

Lorac | Pro Palette

Lorac makes fantastic eyeshadows which are made even more special to me because they can’t be purchased in Canada. The Lorac Pro Palette is another that comes to mind when it comes to neglected palettes that I gotta use more this fall. The colour selection is great, it includes a variety for many different eye looks. In particular the shades Garnet and Deep Purple speak to the two different themes I have with my makeup in the fall: warm, and vampy.

Anastasia Beverly Hills | Modern Renaissance Palette

Now overall, the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette is a well used palette, but in the last year it has definitely been used less than when it first came into my life. It’s such a great palette and the warm shades and the pink shades are just so fun to work with. This is one of my favourite palettes for creating a sunrise inspired eye look. My mind is already spinning with the makeup looks I want to use it for this fall.

Too Faced | Peanut Butter & Jelly Palette

Last but not least is the Too Faced Peanut Butter & Jelly Palette. Airing more on the neutral side, it is a great neutral palette that is compact which makes it great for travel. It’s another palette that is unavailable in Canada as it is an Ulta exclusive so it will always have a special place in my heart. I have definitely used it quite a bit since I got it but my use of it has slowed down over the years. I did pull it out a few times this past summer but I am going to continue that into the fall.

Do you guys have any neglected eyeshadow palettes that you want to use more this fall? Let me know in the comments below!

Robyn

  1. Your words meant a lot – thank you! It’s funny because I thought the video was going to be SO DUMB because there really wasn’t a point to it, you know? Like there’s no tutorial, there’s nothing new in it… it’s just stuff I haven’t been using. I’m really happy it’s resonated with people, and I’m so happy to read your post on it!
Funnily enough, my PB&J palette is also slightly neglected. I love that thing but I have a fear of using it up… and I think it’s gone from the ULTA web site now! ACK!
I almost put the MR palette in my video too, but ended up cutting it out. I think we’re all breaking back into that palette now. 🙂
    Loved reading your picks!

    • Latest response ever (it’s been that kind of fall) but I’m so glad my words meant a lot. I didn’t realize the PB&J Palette was discontinued! I was just there at the end of Sept and yup.. wasn’t in store either. Booo! Now watch mine become neglected again, haha!

  2. I need to declutter my palette collection. I have way too many (like over 40). I do try to use ones I’ve neglected for awhile but there’s some I’m just not inspired by anymore.

    • Yeah that’s fair. I haven’t actually felt that way myself yet about mine but I could definitely see where you’re coming from.
