It’s always so hard to choose which palette to swatch and chat about for Palette Spotlight but today I thought I’d grab the Natasha Denona Eyeshadow Palette 5 in Colour 1. I wish her smaller palettes had better names because it’s not fun to just simply say “Colour 1”. Oh well. I purchased this a few years ago during one of the VIB sales because I don’t think I would ever pay full price for one of her palettes. Their prices are absolutely insane. However, curiosity got the best of me and I had to try one.
As you could probably guess, the Natasha Denona Eyeshadow Palette 5 – Colour 1 has 5 eye shadows in it. This one in particular has 4 shimmery/glittery shades and one that is for the most part matte. I picked this one as the shade selection was quite different but yet all useable (for me anyways). My favourite and most shade though has to be the middle one (the pink – called Piggy).
All five shades are very pigmented and easy to apply. I like applying them best with my fingers to get the best colour pay-off. However you could use a brush to get a more subtle wash of colour.
I do find that the purple shade (the last one – called Slate) does have some fall-out to it. It’s one of those shades where you are best applying your eye shadow before the rest of your makeup. If you’re curious to see how the shade Piggy looks on the eye I did previously feature it in my Valentine’s Day Makeup Look earlier this year.
What was the most expensive (per gram) eye shadow/eye shadow palette that you have purchased? Let me know in the comments below!
