Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick

Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick

There’s nothing better than getting to try a product out without having to shell out money for a full sized product. Especially when that product is considered a luxury brand and therefore has a higher price tag. I’ve been intrigued by Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks for some time now, especially since Sephora started carrying them, but the price tag ($39 CAD) always made me put off the inevitable purchase. When I saw that the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick was available in the Sephora Beauty Insider Rewards Bazaar I didn’t hesitate to use some of my points to try it out. The shade that was available as a deluxe sample was Pillow Talk which is a nude pink. For me I would consider this a MBB shade (my lips but better) which is great!

I’m not really going to go into much detail about the packaging as this is a sample sized product, so it does differ from the full size product. Mini lipsticks are so darn cute though!

The formula is creamy and spread easily across the lips. The Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipsticks claim to make the lips appear to look wider and fuller, while I didn’t see that, I was impressed by how pigmented it is. The Sephora website indicates that they are buildable but I don’t really think they need to be built up, not Pillow Talk anyways. I wouldn’t really call the finish matte, it is more of a demi-matte, if even that.

Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick Pillow Talk Wear Test

1. 8 AM – Freshly applied; 2. 12:30 PM – After eating lunch

As for wear-time, I wouldn’t call this a particularly long-wearing lipstick, but it does feel comfortable on the lips and was easy to touch-up after lunch. I ate breakfast, lunch and drank lots of coffee and water in-between the first and second photo. It did hold up, but not enough to avoid touching it up before I went back to work after lunch.

Overall, I did enjoy wearing this Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick. I wouldn’t say it is anything earth-shattering, but I would pick up another shade during a VIB sale. I did like that it was comfortable to wear and that it applied smoothly and with ample pigmentation.
