One of my favourite ways to pamper myself is to put on a face mask. There is just something so relaxing about putting on a face mask and reading a book, watching a movie or just surfing the web. When I saw that Influencer was sending me two Vichy Mineral Masks complimentary for review I was really excited as both masks looked like something I would be intrigued enough to buy. As well, I’ve typically enjoyed Vichy products in the past. So lets dive into them and see what I thought of Vichy’s Soothing Aloe Vera Mask and Charcoal Mask.
Vichy | Charcoal Mask
The first mask I gravitated to was the charcoal mask. I love a good charcoal mask as I love how fresh and clean my skin feels after using them. It is formulated with kaolin clay and origin plant based charcoal to clean the skin of impurities and leave it feeling hydrated.
The first thing I noticed was that it is a very quick wearing charcoal mask. I am used to GlamGlow, Origin and Boscia’s masks which are all 20-30 minute masks, however Vichy’s is a 5 minute wear mask. I found it didn’t really dry down but I think I may have used too much product. I’m used to the previously mentioned masks that I slather on.
The Vichy Charcoal Mask had a nice light scent which made it enjoyable to use. It also rinsed off really easily which is definitely essential with a charcoal mask. The one downside to masking is spending forever trying to rinse it off. My skin felt nice and soft after use and my pore did look clearer. I had little bumps prior to use that looked like they were going to become breakouts and they were gone after I used this mask.
Vichy | Soothing Aloe Vera Mask
The Vichy Aloe Vera Mask is a lightweight gel mask which is formulated with aloe vera and thermal water. The purpose of this mask is to leave your skin smooth and calmed.
It was another quick to use 5 minute mask. I applied a much thinner layer with this one. It didn’t dry down completely but it did in the most thinly applied spots. It also had a nice light sent.
When rinsing the mask it felt kind of slimy so I had to use a face cloth to help get it off. I always use a face cloth when I’m rinsing charcoal masks but not usually with gel masks. Not really a big deal though. My skin did feel smooth after using it and was slightly less red.
Overall, I enjoyed the Vichy Charcoal Mask the most of the two. I gravitate to charcoal masks because of my oily skin so they definitely fit my needs a bit more. I really enjoyed that it was a quick 5 minute mask because I often don’t use face masks like this because I’m wearing my glasses and don’t want blurry vision for that long (I use them more when I’m wearing contacts). I can go 5 minutes easily without my glasses though. The Soothing Aloe Vera Mask was enjoyable, however, I don’t think I would repurchase it as it isn’t really what I personally look for in a mask. I will use it up though!

Robyn
