Summer Staples: Effortless Beauty

Summer Staples: Effortless Beauty

In the summer I like to spend my free time on the go so I’ve been trying to keep my routine for what I have on my face as minimal as possible while still feeling confident. I mentioned in my previous favourites post that my skincare routine has left me happy with how my skin looks without foundation and concealer so this routine also skips that step! I have left my skincare routine out of this post but if you were curious I use the Drunk Elephant Protini Polypeptide Cream with the C Firma and B-Hydra Serums mixed in for daytime. Continue reading

Makeup Revolution Iconic Division Palette vs. Anastasia Beverly Hills Subculture Palette

ABH Subculture MR Iconic Division

The moment I saw the Makeup Revolution Iconic Division Palette I knew that I had to test it against the Anastasia Beverly Hills Subculture Palette. How could I not? The shade selection is identical. The Subculture Palette gets a lot of flack online but I never minded it that much. While many returned it, I kept mine. It is a bit more difficult to work with but I enjoyed the range of shades it contained and found ways to work with them. Today I thought I’d share a look using both palettes. I’ve used the same shades in each but have kept each eye to one specific palette. Let’s take a look how they compare in the context of this look!

3 Everyday Lippies

3 everyday lippies

I’ve been noticing a pattern with the lipsticks I’ve been wearing a lot lately. They are all fairly neutral and go with a variety of looks. I wear them with colourful looks and I wear them with more natural looking makeup looks. With all this said, I thought I’d share with you my current three everyday lippies. Continue reading

Makeup Revolution Reloaded Neutrals 2 Palette

Makeup Revolution Reloaded Neutrals 2 Palette

I have a soft spot for warm eyeshadow palettes. I have a bunch of them and every time I see a new one, I feel an urge to add it to my collection. When I was placing an order with Orabel Beauty last month I knew that the Makeup Revolutions Reloaded Neutrals 2 Palette had to be mine because of this. I do not regret this purchase one bit because it is an absolutely fantastic warm eye shadow palette. Keep reading for my full review, swatches and a few makeup looks featuring this lovely palette! Zoya Ryan & Girly Bits Hocus Pocus

For the first time in awhile I actually took the effort to paint my nails. I don’t know what it has been but lately I just haven’t been able to summon the energy to do it. A couple of years ago the thought of my nails not being painted would have horrified me. I used to paint them twice a week! Anyways, I’ve been wanting to use my holographic top coat, Girly Bits Hocus Pocus over a darker shade so I finally did it.  For this manicure I layered it over top of Zoya’s Ryan. I’ve previously featured Girly Bits Hocus Pocus over OPI Live.Love.Carnival. Continue reading

Makeup Revolution Warm Makeup Look

Makeup Revolution Neutrals 2

While I love experimenting with makeup, I always come back to a classic warm makeup look. My annual Cinco de Mayo party seemed like a great occasion to rock one. For this makeup look I decided to try out the Makeup Revolution Neutrals 2 Palette that I hauled a few weeks ago from Orabel Beauty. It may seem a bit risky to try a palette for the first time before a party but I had full confidence that this palette wouldn’t let me down. Continue reading

Almay | New Makeup First Impressions

Almay

Almay is a brand that I haven’t really had much exposure to. I know many people who rave about their products but just hadn’t gotten around to trying them for myself. I was trilled to be able to try a bunch of Almay’s new products for spring which were recently gifted to me for review purposes. The products that I will be featuring for this post range from eyeshadows to lip glosses. Keep on reading for my first impressions and two makeup looks using these products. Continue reading

Tarte Tartelette Toasted Palette

Tartelette Toasted

Tarte’s Tartelette Toasted Palette has been one that I’ve been meaning to review for quite some time now. Since I purchased it in early December it has been a pretty regular staple in my daily makeup routine. However, since I usually wear it on work days and I like my sleep I don’t usually leave myself enough time to photograph my makeup looks. But now that the snow is nearly all melted and I haven’t had to brush off my car in the morning in awhile I finally have found some time! I better not be jinxing the snow situation. I won’t accept anything other than spring being here to stay. But with all that said, let’s take a look at Tarte’s Tartelette Toasted Palette! Continue reading

Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara

Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Mascara

It’s been awhile since I last reviewed a mascara for you guys so I thought I’d share my thoughts on the one I’ve been using a lot lately. Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara claims to be “an ultra-volumizing mascara that delivers instant dimension for epic lashes.” I believe I used Sephora points to pick up this mascara if I remember correctly. I quite enjoy mini mascaras as it is an excellent way to try out new formulas without spending big bucks. Continue reading
