St. Patrick’s Day Makeup for Every Day

P1020454.jpg

Hi guys! Since St. Patrick’s Day is a workday if you work a 9-5 Monday to Friday job and you’re not on March Break I thought I would do a look that allows you to incorporate some green into your look without going over-the-top. All I did was one of my typical matte natural eye looks but added a pop of green under the eye. I’m really happy with how it turned out! If you’re looking for something a little more green, I did post a more green eye look a few months ago here!

Blush: Urban Decay After-Glow Blush in Rapture

I think this is a very work appropriate, yet fun look to do if you are stuck at work for St. Patrick’s Day! You could really add a pop of any colour to this look for any occasion. I personally love using purple under the eye with a neutral look like this (huge surprise, I know!).

Holiday Look #2

P1010862.jpg

Hi guys! I have another holiday inspired look to share with you today. Since green is a fairly prominent colour during the holiday season I wanted to do a look where the main focus is green eye shadow. It definitely has colour to it so it is not a neutral look, but I don’t think it is over-the-top or dramatic either. I feel like it could be worn to both formal or casual holiday parties. I wore this look to a Christmas dinner at a friends house which was also an Ugly Christmas Sweater Party. Continue reading

Halloween Featuring Black Widow & a Donut!!

P1010541

Hi guys! This is an exciting post because I don’t just have my look for Halloween, but I also have the look that I did on one of my best friends, Chrissy! We got ready together yesterday before going out for Halloween and this was the result! This was the first time I’ve ever did someone else’s makeup and I’m happy with the results! Her makeup was already partially done, so I did her eyes and cheeks. Since she was a donut I had some freedom to have fun with her eye makeup, so with that said, I’m going to go into more detail about her look.

Silver and Purple Makeup Look

Hi guys! I normally have a Mani Monday post for you today, but my nails are an absolute mess today. I’ve been pretty busy the last few days so I haven’t had a chance to re-do my nails. So instead, this week I’m going to switch things up a bit and do a makeup look today and a manicure related post later this week.

This is a look that I did last week for Thanksgiving and I was really happy with how it turned out. I did a silver foiled lid, smoked out with a darker shadow, with a pop of purple under the eye. I didn’t really know what my plan was, I just started playing with shadows and this is what I ended up with. I was really happy with it and I’ll definitely be re-creating it in the future. I love silver and purple together. My original wedding colours were going to be purple and silver until I saw purple and turquoise together and fell in love.

I really need to play with the Makeup Geek Foiled Shadows more, they are just so nice to work with. I’m still using my finger to apply them because it seems to be the easiest way to get a nice, even and pigmented application.

Welcome + Makeup Geek Foiled Shadows

Welcome to my blog!

My name is Robyn and I am a make up addict/hoarder/enthusiast. I live at the head of Lake Superior in Thunder Bay, Ontario. While it is a beautiful city to live in, our small population doesn’t attract stores like Sephora which makes shopping for makeup a bit difficult. Most of my beauty hauls are from shopping online unless I am travelling.

Please join me as I review beauty products, share my favourites, show tutorials and more!

To get things started I wanted to talk about the widely popular Makeup Geek Foiled Shadows. I purchased the more recently launched shadows and I am beyond impressed. They definitely live up to the hype they have been receiving on YouTube. I was torn between ordering the original launch vs. the newer launch. Since it is summer time I thought I would go for the brighter new ones. Also, they currently have a deal where you can buy the Expansion Set (10 pans) for $89. Considering they cost $9.99 individually you end up saving $10.00 this way.

The box they arrived in was affixed with a sticker that has the Makeup Geek logo on it. A small detail like this really sets them apart from other packages I have received.

Inside the box the shadows were bundled together in this stunning presentation. The rose gold packaging is gorgeous.
