Best of 2018

Best of 2018

Nearly a week into 2019 and I’m still in a bit of disbelief that 2018 is over. I don’t know if the year flew by or if it seemed like a long year. I just can’t tell! While the summer flew by because my life revolved around fixing up my old house to get it ready to sell, it also feels like Paris (where I started the year) seems like an eternity ago. Anyways, regardless, I’m excited to share with you my best of 2018! I decided to categorize it this year to make it easier to round up my favourites to make sure nothing was missed. Since I’ve categorized it and there are some items that still hold-up this year there will be some old favourites, as well as some new ones! Grab a snack because this is a long one! Continue reading

Favourites: Summer 2018

Favourite Summer 2018 - Morphe, Bite Beauty, BareMinerals, Too Faced, Makeup Revolution

Wow I can’t believe how long it has been since I last wrote a blog post. I’ve missed you guys! How was your summer? I can’t believe how quickly that flew by as well. I had a super, super, super crazy busy summer so that was why I had to be so absent here. But, things are settling down (for now) so I am going to try to get back into the swing of things. With that said, I didn’t post monthly favourites for June, July or August! To be honest… I was living a very minimalistic makeup/haircare/skincare life so I don’t have many products to talk about but I didn’t want to skip this all together so let’s chat about the products that have been constants in my life over the past few months, shall we? August Favourites: Makeup, Skincare & More!

Hi guys! How in the heck is August over? Where did summer go?? I almost don’t want to write this in hope’s that I can just pretend that August didn’t end yet. But, alas, it is time to talk about my August Favourites!

Too Faced | Peanut Butter and Jelly Palette

This little palette is amazing. The shadows perform well and although it is a neutral palette and a small one at that, it is quite versatile. I did a post on it here where I showed five different looks done using this palette and did a full review with swatches.

NYX | Eyebrow Gel in Blonde

This is a fairly new makeup item in my arsenal but I can tell it is a favourite already. I think this may even make my 2016 favourites list if I may be that bold. A few weeks ago my sister went to a wedding and when I saw her earlier that day her brows were the definition of “on fleek”. She told me pointed me in the direction the NYX Eyebrow Gel and WOW. I love it. It’s so easy to use and it fills in my brows just right. Most days I don’t even bother with adding a clear gel to set them. This product claims to be water-proof, smudge-resistant and long-lasting and I can safely say all those claims are true.

I actually don’t think I have a new skincare favourite to share with you this month! I’m trying some new products right now but, they haven’t been tested enough to determine if they are a favourite or not.

Gwen Stefani | Obsessed

It should be no surprise that one of my favourite random things this month is a Gwen Stefani song considering I went to see her in concert earlier this month. This song is so catchy and I listen to it at least every day. Beauty Podcast

My week would not be complete without the latest instalment of Cat’s Podcast! Her guests are always really interesting and Cat, herself, is a joy to listen to. I was actually on this podcast earlier this month as well but I was a listener before I was a guest! I highly recommend checking it out! She airs new episodes every Thursday at 7 pm est (currently on break until the fall but you can catch up on previous episodes) on iTunes, Google Play, Stitcher & Buzzsprout!

Well, those are my August Favourites! I would love to hear what yours are so please let me know in the comments below!

July Favourites: Makeup, Skincare & More!

Hi guys! Another month has flown right by! Don’t you find that time goes that much faster when it’s summer and the weather is beautiful? Before I know it, winter will come back with full force and I’ll be complaining again. You will never, ever, ever hear me complain about the heat in the summer. With that said, it’s time to discuss my July favourites!

Violet Voss | Laura Lee Eye Shadow Palette

Oh. My. Goodness. This palette is amazing. Yes, yes, I love palettes, I tend to favourite a lot of palettes, but wow. These are the most buttery and pigmented shadows that I have ever had the joy of applying to my eye lids. I did a full review of this palette which you can find here, it includes swatches so if you’re curious to see if I’m exaggerating check it out! Violet Voss and Laura Lee did a fabulous job on this palette and it was worth every penny of the shipping and currency exchange from USD to CAD that I paid! This will be a treasured item in my makeup collection for sure.

Essence | Give Me BIG! Lashes Mascara

I jump around a lot with what mascara I’m currently using but as soon as I got this, I kind of forgot about the Revlon Dramatic Definition Mascara that I also have open. I’m not going to say too much about this mascara right now because I am planning on doing a full review of it, but I have worn this almost every single day of July!

NYX | Soft Matte Lip Cream in San Paulo

San Paulo is a plummy-pink shade that has a touch of rosieness to it. Just the colour alone is gorgeous! These also wear very well and for me, don’t feel super drying. I have used creamier matte liquid lipsticks, but this one didn’t bother me. I’ve been wearing this shade a lot this past month! You can see it swatched here! I’ll be going into more details about the wear time and formula in an upcoming Love for Lipstick post!

January Favourites

Hi guys! Welcome to the first favourites post of 2016! To switch things up from the usual I’ve done a video this month. This is my first video-style favourites video so it is very short. I was so surprised when I saw how much footage I had because favourites videos are notoriously super long! I think it will take some time to get used to talking to the camera. My apologies in advance for my bratty dogs. This basically sums up why I’ve been doing all voiceover style videos.
