Hi guys! I didn’t post my favourites for August (to be honest it was a bit difficult given my VERY minimalist summer) so I thought it would be more valuable to add them in with September so here we are! Now that the weather has been cooling down, and I’m not spending my weekends out at the lake, makeup has become more of a part of my routine again. Which, to be honest, I did miss it! So, let’s take a peak at what I’ve been loving lately!
Makeup Revolution | The Matte Blush in Beloved
Makeup Revolution’s the Matte Blush in the shade Beloved has been my constant go-to every day blush for the past 2.5 months. Basically, ever since I hauled in from Ulta in July it has rocked my world. It’s a very light coral nude shade and just something about it gives my face a beautiful flushed glow. I can’t get enough of it. Continue reading
Hi guys! I feel like I might as well just stop keeping track of each month this year because they seem to be blowing by faster than I can count. I could have sworn June had just started but here we are ready to welcome July! This summer is going to be a busy one so I feel like it’s going to fly by even faster.
Morphe | 35O Palette
In anticipation of Jaclyn Hill’s collaboration with Morphe, I became inspired to bust out my 35O Palette which I realized failed to make much of an appearance here on the blog! If you love warm eye shadows like I do, this palette is a must. It is so reasonably priced for 35 quality eye shadows! Also, you can find Morphe products in Showcase stores if you have one near you. I picked mine up from my local store. I posted a look using this palette earlier this month!
Urban Decay | Naked Heat Palette
Yes, I just got this palette a couple of weeks ago but, I have been using it every single day since. Similar to the Morphe 35O Palette, the Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette is warm toned as the name suggests. I have been absolutely obsessed with it. It doesn’t have as much variety as the Morphe 35O, however, what it lacks in variety, it makes up for in that it has the same quality one expects from a Naked Palette. I would say quality-wise it is a few notches above the Morphe 35O, but either would be great if you are looking for a warm toned palette. I posted my first impressions and swatches last week and stay tuned for a mega-post full of different eye looks using this beauty! Continue reading
Hi guys! With spring making it’s way into Thunder Bay, I’ve been really inspired to start blogging about my favourite products for the season. Since spring is pretty much a gateway to summer, I start busting out the bright colours on a regular basis. I don’t really believe in seasonal colours, but I think the nicer weather makes me feel more bright and cheery and then this in turn is reflected in my overall style.
Nars | Audacious Lipstick in Angela
I’ve had Angela for a couple of years now and I always seem to bust her out when spring starts up. The pink orchid shade really reminds me of fresh flowers starting to bloom! Though we don’t have a lot of that going on right now in Thunder Bay (thank you epic April ice storm), I’m hopeful we will start seeing some blossoms soon! The Audacious Lipstick formula pigmented demi-matte formula that I find wears really well on the lips. Continue reading
Hi guys! Despite things being a little quiet over here, I still do have some favourite products that I used over and over during the month of March. I feel like March flew by faster than any other month of my life. With that said, I am looking forward to some hopefully nicer weather and am welcoming April with open arms.
Urban Decay | Naked Palette
I’ve probably mentioned this in a favourites post before but I honestly think I wore this palette almost every day this past month. That is, unless I had some kind of special event to go to, or I was feeling particularly creative. You can find the default look that I’ve been regularly wearing here! Continue reading
Hi guys! I can’t believe I’m writing this… February Favourites time already? I know I always say this but the time just flew by. I’ve got a few products that I wore regularly this past month and became staples in my routine. From makeup, to skincare and a bit of randomness, let’s dive in!
Morphe | Kathleenlights Eye Shadow Palette
I talked about this palette when I got it back in November, and while I wore it occasionally at the time, I have been wearing it non-stop this past month! In fact, I’ve worn it almost every day. If I don’t know what I want to wear on my eyes, this is the palette I’ve been reaching for. I don’t think it has even been put back in the palette drawer once. I also did post a look using this palette recently right here! Continue reading
Hi guys! I can’t believe January is done and we are 1/12 through 2017! January was a great month though, I got back into a workout routine (after Christmas derailed the routine I got into in early December), there were quite a few celebrations over the course of the month and though it was stressful at times, I persevered. As I made my way through January there was, as always, particular products that I reached for most and truly were my favourites of the month. So, let’s chat about my January Favourites. Hi guys! I don’t know about you but I am thrilled to see the end of 2016. It’s been a really tough year on my friends and family and I’m ready for what I hope to be a better 2017. But, since the year is coming to an end, it is also time to look back and acknowledge some game changing beauty products that for me were the best of 2016. These products may not all be new releases to 2016 but they were products that were new to me and were, you guessed it, game changing. I’m not going to go over every makeup category as I recently did the Ride or Die Makeup Tag which goes over general favourites for each category (new and old). So without further ado… here are my best of 2016 choices!
Anastasia Beverly Hills | Dipbrow (Taupe)
I recently gave this brow pomade a glowing review and for good reason. Though it came into my life later in 2016, it really changed my brow game for the better. I never really felt confident in my brow abilities, but when I wear this I feel like my brows look their best. Definitely up high on my best of 2016 list!
Marc Jacobs Beauty | Le Marc Crème Lipstick (J’Adore)
I reviewed this lipstick as part of my Love for Lipstick series and it was an instant favourite. I love the shade and I love the formula. The wear time and comfort of this lipstick, to me, are amazing. I’ll definitely be grabbing more shades from this line in the years to come. Personally, I find them a worthy investment. Hi guys! I debated doing a December favourites post since I’ll be doing some best of 2016 posts next week, but I couldn’t pass this up. My best of 2016 posts focus on the whole year but there were some products that I’ve been loving a ton this month that I just had to tell you about as part of a December favourites post. So, this post is a bit early compared to my normal timing of these posts so that you aren’t inundated with favourites next week!
Colourpop | Creme Gel Liner in Mr. Bing
I’ve been really loving the formula of Colourpop’s Creme Gel Liners but so far the standout, for me, is Mr. Bing. This warm brown looks very striking with green eyes and I find it works with a lot of my everyday makeup looks. Formula-wise, it is pigmented, smooth to apply (minimal tugging) and long-wearing!
Tarte | Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed
I’ve been wearing Exposed a LOT lately. I find it goes so well with most of my makeup looks. Particularly when I don’t want my blush to stand out much but still want some colour in my cheeks. This shade looks lovely on, blends out well and is long-wearing. Continue reading
Hi guys! November was such a busy, but such a wonderful month! I turned 27, I went to three amazing concerts and of course, there was the Sephora VIB sale! I’m quite sad to see this November go, but at least it’s time to chat about the products that knocked my socks off this month. I feel like this month brought along a lot of “instant favourites”. As you will notice through reading this post, it is very makeup-heavy… as in… all makeup.
Anastasia Beverly Hills | Liquid Lipstick in Crush
I usually like owning an item for an entire month before I call it a favourite, but I’ve been wearing this shade almost every day since it arrived as part of my VIB sale haul. I just love the shade so much and the wear-time is pretty fantastic! It survived eating greasy, cheesy jalapeno poppers so that’s at least an “A” in my books!
Maison Jacynthe | Blush in Romeo
I talked about this blush when I did my post on Maison Jacynthe and out of all the products mentioned in that post, this one was a cut above the rest in my opinion. I love how pigmented this blush is, while still being incredibly blendable. Continue reading
Hi guys! While indulging in mid end to high end makeup is fun, it isn’t always financially feasible. Shopping for makeup at the drugstore can also yield some hidden gems that work just as well, if not better than their pricier counterpart. Today I want to share with you some of my drugstore makeup essentials and why I love them so much. Before we get into it, it’s important to note that everyone has different skin tones so not everything I share will work for all. Personally, I have normal to oily skin that gets super shiny throughout the day.
L’Oreal Pro-Matte Foundation
I’ve sung the praises of this foundation time and time again. I’ve gone through so many tubes of the L’Oreal Pro-Matte Foundation. It truly makes a difference in keeping my skin matte, while also maintaining a natural finish to the skin. It has medium coverage so it evens out my skin tone and hides any minor blemishes or imperfections. As well, it lasts throughout the day. Continue reading
