Devil Costume

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Halloween is my favourite holiday! I just love getting dressed up and going out! It’s so much fun. I usually start thinking about and planning for halloween a few months in advance however with how busy this summer and fall were, I ended up pulling together costumes for myself and my husband less than a week before the event we went to last weekend. I decided to be a devil, which meany my husband ended up being an angel. Considering how little time it took to put together these costumes I’m quite pleased with how they turned out!

The inspiration for the devil costume really does centre around makeup. I wanted to do something dark and a devil was the first thing that came to mind.

Halloween 2017: Galaxy & Zombie

Halloween 2017

Halloween is hands down my favourite holiday. Nothing beats dressing up in a costume and going out. Usually I purchase a costume, but this year I thought I’d try something different and put the costumes together myself. I have to say, Instagram was a huge inspiration for this. Between seeing so many posts of galaxy makeup and zombie makeup I had a lot of ideas swiming around my head. My galaxy costume was my main costume this year and I spent my weekends working on it. Since I was going out twice, I also decided to do the zombie costume after seeing what my sister had planned for that night. So, let’s take a look at my costumes, shall we?

Night 1: Galaxy Costume

For my galaxy costume I knew I wanted to get a black body suit and sponge paint it. The skirt was a spontaneous add-on when I went to buy the body suit. This also gave me something to adhere my planets to. The planets were all hand-painted on styrofoam balls and velcroed to the skirt. I am shocked that I only lost one planet when I wore this out. Funny enough I lost Earth, so I’m working on re-painting it so I can wear this again on Tuesday. Continue reading →

Halloween 2016: Gamora

Hi guys! Happy Halloween! I’m super excited to share with you the costume that I wore this year… Gamora from Guardians of the Galaxy! I had a few different ideas floating around but Gamora really jumped out at me the most. I love the Guardians of the Galaxy movie and Gamora is such a strong and powerful character. My husband was Star-Lord from Guardians of the Galaxy.

I don’t really use a lot of face paint so, I cheaped out and ordered green face paint online. I should have done some research because this stuff was hard to work with. It dried very uneven so I had to build it up, and if my face got even the tiniest bit oily, the face paint would start to fade. At least the Halloween party I went to was dark, so after we took some pictures beforehand I wasn’t concerned about it. Pikachu Makeup

Hi guys! As I’ve probably mentioned a hundred times, Halloween is my favourite holiday. Nothing beats showing my inner geekiness and dressing up as a character that I love. A few years ago my husband and I dressed up as Ash and Pikachu from Pokemon. So, given the popularity of Pokemon Go this past summer, and the upcoming release of Pokemon Sun and Moon, I thought I’d take the costume out for a spin again and show you an easy way to do Pikachu makeup.

Now, in these pictures, I am not wearing my actual costume. I went to pull it out and it had stains on it, ugh! So, I’ll share some pictures from when I originally wore it at the end of this post.

Simple Halloween Manicure

Hi guys! Given that Halloween is ONE week away, I thought it would be fun to get into the spirit and share a simple Halloween manicure! I love split manicures like this because they look great but are so quick and easy to achieve. So, to achieve this simple Halloween manicure, I did a split manicure with the classic festive combination of orange and black.

Halloween Featuring Black Widow & a Donut!!

Hi guys! This is an exciting post because I don’t just have my look for Halloween, but I also have the look that I did on one of my best friends, Chrissy! We got ready together yesterday before going out for Halloween and this was the result! This was the first time I’ve ever did someone else’s makeup and I’m happy with the results! Her makeup was already partially done, so I did her eyes and cheeks. Since she was a donut I had some freedom to have fun with her eye makeup, so with that said, I’m going to go into more detail about her look.

Happy (almost) Halloween everyone! Halloween is one of my absolute favourite times of the year. I love dressing up! To get into the spirit of Halloween I thought I would share with you the makeup that I will be pairing with my witch costume for work on Friday. I do have another costume that I will be wearing out but I’m going to save that one for Saturday.
