Well over a month ago the Morphe x Jaclyn Hill Vault Collection finally launched after a controversial delay due to quality control issues. I debated whether or not to jump on board when the collection finally did launch but, controversial or not, I enjoy Jaclyn’s videos and I enjoyed the selection of colours in the palettes. My blog had also just turned 3 so I decided to treat myself. Rather than talking about all four at the same time I thought I’d break them up a bit so today we are going to take a look at Bling Boss and Ring the Alarm. Keep reading for swatches and a makeup look from each palette! Continue reading

The Limited Edition Makeup Tag
Well, that was an unexpected break from blogging… My husband and I have been working on some home renovations and they were a lot more time consuming than I had expected (aren’t they all?). However, I’m back and hopefully will be returning to posting consistently. I was cruising Facebook a week or so ago and saw a new YouTube video by Chelle of Makeup Your Mind and I was super intrigued. I’ve embedded her video at the end of this post and I definitely suggest checking it out! The video was The Limited Edition Makeup Tag which allows creators to give some love to Limited Edition items that we may not talk about regularly due to the ability to get them anymore. I’m all for any opportunity to give some love to my favourite Limited Edition Makeup products so I was all about participating in this tag.
QUESTIONS:
1. What is the LE product you are most happy you got your hands on?
The Kat Von D Metal Matte Palette is hands down one of my favourite palettes in general, limited edition or not. It has a little bit of everything in it – both colourful and neutral so I keep coming back to it for creating different looks.
2. What is your least favorite LE products you picked up, the thing you could have been without? Continue reading
Limited Edition Palettes That I Still Love
Limited edition… those two words that are meant to feel like you have to have something because someday it won’t be as easy to get your hands on. I have to admit, I’ve been hit by the urge to buy something because of those words. Particularly if it was something I was already interested in, the limited-edition-ness would simply seal the deal. This is because I have been burnt by missing out on a limited edition product that I really wanted because I waited too long. I try not to post about limited edition items when they are no longer available because I prefer that if something sparks interest with a reader, that they would be able to go out and purchase it. However, limited edition items need love too so today’s post is all about four limited edition palettes that I still love and use quite frequently. That’s the thing about limited edition items… sometimes they end up forgotten, no matter how much you felt like you needed to have it.
Anastasia Beverly Hills | Self Made Palette
The Anastasia Beverly Hills Self-Made Palette was the first ABH eyeshadow palette that I ever purchased and it really sparked my love for their eyeshadow. For that reason and just how great this palette is, it has a very special place in my heart. I pull this palette out quite often because it has a great variety. My favourite combination is Sherbert in the crease with Hot & Cold all over the lid and Hot Chocolate in the outer-v and under my eye. However, the shade Isla is also gorgeous and fun to use! Best of 2017: The Game Changers
I always find end of year favourites to be such a challenge. With so many products to choose from it’s hard to come up with a concise list that doesn’t miss anything. In keeping with how I did my best of 2016 post, I’m going to stick to what I considered to be game changers. These are products that I tried for the first time this year and loved enough to consider them “game changing”. Continue reading

The Jaclyn Hill Palette: First Impressions
Hi guys! Today we will be looking at the the Jaclyn Hill Palette by Morphe. This palette has been in the works for quite some time now and after so many teases and sneak peaks, I’m so excited to have it in my hands now. Jaclyn Hill had been working on this palette with Morphe to get it to her liking for a couple of years. I’ve had this palette for a couple weeks now but between being out of town and have several makeup free days, I’m only starting to test it out now. So today I have some swatches and first impressions for you. I will start posting the makeup looks that I have been putting together very soon!
The Jaclyn Hill Palette leans mostly warm but it does have some cool shades as well as some pops of colour. I think for the most part it is pretty well-rounded and has everything you need to do several completed makeup looks. Each shadow I’ve used so far performs excellently. I have found though that some of the more metallic shades do apply better with your fingers compared to using a brush. Continue reading
The Ride or Die Makeup Tag
Hi guys! I was thinking about doing an update to my holy grail post that I wrote last year. Instead, I thought it would be fun to do Jaclyn Hill’s Ride or Die Makeup Tag which is essentially the same thing! So in this post you will find all of my go-to items for each makeup category, these are the products I can’t live without.
PRIMER
If you read my post about essential drugstore makeup items this week, you probably already know the answer to this. My ride or die primer is the Nivea After Shave Balm (Sensitive). Nothing else makes my makeup last so long. Note, it does not control my oil though.
FOUNDATION
Another repeat from my essential drugstore post… so far the drugstore is winning this tag! While I enjoy a few other foundations, the L’Oreal Pro-Matte is my ride or die. I always go back to it because it works so well for me.
CONCEALER
Straying from the drugstore… The Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer is definitely ride or die status for me. Personally, I find it is a great formula to work with. It’s pigmented, it has a great, blendable consistency and it is the perfect shade for me. I never have luck finding a concealer in the right shade and Fair Neutral is perfection.
FACE POWDER
Face powders are essential for helping me stay matte and I’ve mentioned this powder thousands of time here on the blog… The Maybelline FitMe Matte + Poreless Translucent Powder is definitely my go-to.
UNDER EYE SETTING POWDER
I normally use the same powder on my face as I do for setting my under eye, but occasionally I’ll use the Laura Mercier Loose Translucent Powder on my under eye area if I really want to make sure my makeup lasts all day. Continue reading
Champagne Everything!
Hi guys! I’ve been posting like crazy about the Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection lately. You can see my previous posts in the following links: Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face Palette, MOTD: Let it Glow! & Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Eye Palette. To finish off this mini “series” I wanted to do a look using both palettes! They compliment each other beautifully so I couldn’t wait to pair them!
Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Eye Palette
Hi guys! I normally don’t post until Wednesday but I was too excited and had to share this right away. Last week when the Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Eye Palette launched I jumped onto the Sephora website and grabbed one. The Face Palette was so amazing that I just couldn’t pass this up. So today will be another “first impressions” style post so I’ll have a look with this palette coming shortly as well. As I type this I have just received it in the mail so I haven’t had a chance to play with it yet but I just had to get some swatches up for you guys!
This palette is so stunning and looks like a great addition to my makeup collection. I’ve never used Becca eye shadows but I’ve heard great things! The colours are in the warm/neutral family and include two shimmers and three mattes. Basically, you have everything you need for a beautiful eye look. Continue reading
MOTD: Let it Glow!
Hi guys! I was going to post my May Ipsy Glam Bag Today, however, I thought it would be more fun to use the Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face Palette that I posted about yesterday! I was so excited to slather this palette all over my face so I had to get this look up right away.
