Violet Voss Sugar Crystals Palette

The best part of a new palette is starting to imagine all of the possibilities that lie within it. I purchased the Violet Voss Sugar Crystals Palette this past August and I’ve been playing with it on and off since then. I’ve done quite a few makeup looks using it so I’m ready to share my thoughts on it as well as show you SIX different makeup looks that I’ve created using this colourful and versatile palette! Makeup Revolution Constellation Palette | Review

Makeup Revolution Constellation Palette

It’s safe to say that this has been the spring and summer of Makeup Revolution for me. I’ve become hooked on their inexpensive, yet quality eye shadow palettes. Their thing is definitely duping other high end palettes but they do such a great job that I ain’t mad about it. I believe the Makeup Revolution Constellation Palette, which I’ll be reviewing for you today, is supposed to be a dupe of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Riviera Palette. However, I do not own that palette so I can’t really speak to their comparability at this time. Continue reading

Makeup Revolution Iconic Division Palette vs. Anastasia Beverly Hills Subculture Palette

ABH Subculture MR Iconic Division

The moment I saw the Makeup Revolution Iconic Division Palette I knew that I had to test it against the Anastasia Beverly Hills Subculture Palette. How could I not? The shade selection is identical. The Subculture Palette gets a lot of flack online but I never minded it that much. While many returned it, I kept mine. It is a bit more difficult to work with but I enjoyed the range of shades it contained and found ways to work with them. Today I thought I’d share a look using both palettes. I’ve used the same shades in each but have kept each eye to one specific palette. Let’s take a look how they compare in the context of this look!

3 Everyday Lippies

3 everyday lippies

I’ve been noticing a pattern with the lipsticks I’ve been wearing a lot lately. They are all fairly neutral and go with a variety of looks. I wear them with colourful looks and I wear them with more natural looking makeup looks. With all this said, I thought I’d share with you my current three everyday lippies. Continue reading

Tarte Tartelette Toasted Palette

Tartelette Toasted

Tarte’s Tartelette Toasted Palette has been one that I’ve been meaning to review for quite some time now. Since I purchased it in early December it has been a pretty regular staple in my daily makeup routine. However, since I usually wear it on work days and I like my sleep I don’t usually leave myself enough time to photograph my makeup looks. But now that the snow is nearly all melted and I haven’t had to brush off my car in the morning in awhile I finally have found some time! I better not be jinxing the snow situation. I won’t accept anything other than spring being here to stay. But with all that said, let’s take a look at Tarte’s Tartelette Toasted Palette! Continue reading

3 Pastel Highlighters for Spring

Pastel Highlighters for Spring

I love going through my makeup collection each season and re-visiting products that remind me the most of said season. For spring I am drawn towards bright colours as well as pastels so I thought I’d share with you 3 pastel highlighters that are perfect for the season.

Pastel Highlighters for Spring

Becca | Shimmering Skin Perfector in Prismatic Amethyst

Prismatic Amethyst is probably one of my favourite highlighters in my collection. It is a beautiful and pigmented purple-pink shade that looks so stunning on the cheekbones. I love how so little goes a long way so you don’t really need to pack it on to achieve results.

Pastel Highlighters for Spring

Laura Gellar | Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator in Charming Pink

I have a soft spot for pink highlighters but Charming Pink is probably one of my favourites. It really is great for everyday wear and is buildable.

Pastel Highlighters for Spring

L to R: Becca Prismatic Amethyst, Colourpop Hippo & Laura Gellar Charming Pink

Colourpop | Super Shock Highlighter in Hippo

Who doesn’t love a budget friendly product? Colourpop makes fabulous highlighters and their Super Shock formula is just so unique. A couple quick taps of this product to the cheekbones makes this so user friendly. The icy lavender shade, Hippo, is actually quite wearable as it doesn’t look too purple on the skin.

What are your favourite highlighters for spring? Let me know in the comments below.

MOTD: Day to Night Makeup Look

MOTD Day to Night Makeup Look

Normally if I know I have to be out somewhere in the evening on a weekend I refrain from wearing makeup during the day out of sheer laziness to avoid doing my makeup twice. However, I went out this morning so I wanted to wear a little something-something on my face. In keeping with my not wanting to do my makeup twice motive I decided it would be a great opportunity to take a daytime look and transition it into an evening look! I really didn’t do that much to transition the look but I’m quite pleased with how it turned out! Continue reading
