Hi guys! If you follow me on instagram you might know that yesterday was my birthday! I turned the big 2-7 which seems crazy to me because the last years feel like they just zoomed by. Anyways, I thought I would share my birthday haul as that will give you a sneak peak into what I’ll be blogging about this month! I’ll have full posts with looks for both these items coming up! I also received some Sephora e-gift cards which I used during the VIB Rouge sale so I’ll have that haul in a separate post when it arrives.
Anastasia Beverly Hills | Modern Renaissance
When this palette first came out, I instantly knew I needed it, however it seemed like such an odd release for summer (it reminds me of fall) that I didn’t jump on it right away. After that, it kept going out of stock so when it came back in stock recently, my lovely sister scooped it up for me! I wore this palette out to dinner for my birthday so I’ll have that look up some time this week. After how much I loved the Anastasia Beverly Hills Self-Made Palette, I knew I’d love this one too. Hi guys! It’s been awhile since I last did a Colourpop haul so it’s about time for another one! I’d been wanting to order more from them but the bad Canadian dollar and cost of shipping was holding me back. But, they had a promotion a few weeks ago that made international shipping much more affordable so I placed an order! I don’t normally mind paying their shipping because the products are so inexpensive but I knew they were due for SOME kind of promotion.
As you can see, I mostly stuck to lip products. Specifically, the Ultra Satin Liquid Lipsticks. I hadn’t tried this formula but have been wanting to for quite some time.
Let’s take a closer look at my Colourpop Haul!
- Lumiere 2: This is an Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick that is in collaboration with YouTuber KathleenLights. I adore the Lumiere Lippie Stix so I knew the liquid lipstick version had to be mine. I’ll post a comparison of the two formulas on Instagram later on today! Lumiere is such a beautiful dusty mauve/pink!
- Baracuda: This is one of the Ultra Satin Liquid Lipsticks and is a newer launch for Colourpop. This shade is described as a warm deepened rose. I thought this colour would be beautiful for fall!
- Marshmallow: This is another Ultra Satin Liquid Lipstick. After seeing Marshmallow for the first time, I knew one day it had to be mine. I love a good purple lipstick and this one is definitely unique to my collection.
- Femme: The shade Femme is another Ultra Satin Liquid Lipstick and is also a newer launch. Femme seemed like another unique colour to my collection and is purple! Colourpop describes it as a muted dirty lilac. Beautiful!
- Dove: We are straying from the lip products and going into uncharted territory with Dove! This is one of their Sculpting Stix! I’ve been intrigued by these since they launched. I chose Dove as it is a light cool-toned taupe so I think this would be best for my skin tone but we shall see!
Here is the comparison for Lumiere from Instagram:
You’ll definitely be seeing me using these products in various posts and looks on the blog! I already have a few in mind 😉
Did you pick up anything when Colourpop had their international shipping promotion? If so, what did you get?! Let’s chat about your Colourpop Haul or anything else that’s on your mind in the comments down below!

Hi guys! I managed to make my way into one of the many Sephora’s that I was probably in proximity to while I was away on my road trip. The Sephora that I stopped by was one that I’ve been to many times, the Minneapolis (“Minni”) location. Since being on the road for two weeks is quite costly, I limited myself to two lipsticks so I had to force myself to choose wisely. My focus seemed to be very liquid lipstick centred but I think that helped keep me from buying more than I did. So, let’s chat about what I picked!
Anastasia Beverly Hills | Liquid Lipstick in Heathers
I have wanted to try the Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipsticks for quite some time now but I always get seem to get side-tracked. This time though, that was not going to happen! Since it is *almost* fall, I wanted to get something more on the vampy-side so I chose the shade Heathers. It’s a brownish-oxblood shade which is basically a combination of two of my favourite fall colours! I can’t wait to try out this formula and put it to the test in an upcoming Love for Lipstick post!
Kat Von D | Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita
It’s really no surprise that Kat Von D makes one of my favourite liquid lipsticks, I’ve raved about them in the past. With that said, I had to pick up another one! Lolita is one of her classic shades and surprisingly, it wasn’t yet mine! So, since it was in stock, I had to pick it up! This looks like a great every day shade. A rosy chestnut liquid lipstick? Yes please!
L to R: Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Heathers & Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita
I also decided to compare Kat Von D’s Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita and Double Dare as when I swatched Lolita, it reminded me of Double Dare. They are very different though, yay! Double Dare is a touch pinker and brighter than Lolita. I’ve swatched them both below in case you were curious!

Well, that’s what I picked up when I stopped by Sephora in Minneapolis! If you missed out on my recent posts about my adventures you can find the Canadian leg of the trip here, and the American leg of the trip here!
What have you recently hauled? Let me know in the comments down below!

Hi guys! I mentioned yesterday that I went to Minnesota to see Gwen Stefani and I talked about the makeup look that I wore as well as the event itself. Now it is time to get into the important stuff, the makeup haul! I went to Sephora, Ulta and placed a Morphe Brushes order before I left so I’ve got a lot to share with you!
For a beauty blogger who loves Sephora, you would probably be surprised to find out that I only get to go to an actual store a few times a year. This was my second (and third) trip to a Sephora store in 2016! This was also my first trip to an Ulta store this year as well. I don’t think I had been to one since July 2015 which was my last trip to Minnesota. I always try to plan in advance as much as I can so that I stick to my mental “shopping list” to avoid going overboard.
What I Bought at Ulta
My first stop was at Ulta since we stopped in Duluth, MN for lunch and there is an Ulta in the same mall where we ate. I knew that I wanted to focus on brands that I can’t get in Canada so I immediately scoped out the Lorac and Laura Gellar displays. This purchase was 100% inspired by What Should I Buy? At Ulta over on the blog Classic Maggie! I wasn’t quite sure what I wanted to focus on at Ulta and that post put me on the right track.
Lorac | Pro Eye Shadow Palette 2
I didn’t own any Lorac Palettes so I knew I had to check them out. As soon as I saw the blue shade, Navy and the purplely-metallic shade Chrome, I knew this was the one. I haven’t used it yet but I’m really excited to start playing with the many, many colour combinations this palette contains! The metallic/shimmery shades swatch like a dream. I always struggle swatching mattes but they felt promising.
Hi guys! If you didn’t already know, Urban Decay is discontinuing all of their current Revolution Lipsticks in anticipation of their new Vice Lipsticks. I’ve mentioned it a few times since I started the blog, but the Revolution Lipsticks are up there with my all-time favourite formulas. While I’m super sad to see them go, and super hopeful that the new formula will be just as good, if not better, I am happy to report that they put their entire Revolution line on sale! Sephora (Canada) is all sold out of the Revolution Lipsticks online as far as I can tell but Urban Decay still has a decent selection. I’m not adding this as part of my Love for Lipstick Series since these are discontinued, but, I did want to share with you what I chose…

Hi guys! I ventured into Shopper’s Drugmart yesterday and found quite a few items that I’ve been thinking about purchasing on sale so I decided to take some of them home with me. I almost never go into Shopper’s Drugmart to buy makeup since if I buy anything drugstore I usually just grab it while I’m grocery shopping. However, I saw over on Stashmatters’ Instagram that she spotted a NYX display at her local Shopper’s so I had to see if we had one too. I was super surprised to see that we did!
I had been wanting to try the NYX Micro Brow Pencil for quite some time so that is the item I went for when I saw the NYX display. It is supposed to be a dupe for the ABH Brow-Wiz. I’ve only ever swatched the brow-wiz in a Sephora (they didn’t have my colour in stock so I couldn’t take it home with me) but they do seem very similar. I can’t wait to try penciling in my brows with it! I purchased the shade taupe.
The Maybelline Colour Sensational Creamy Matte Lipsticks is another product from the drugstore that I’ve been eyeing up. They were on sale (and super picked-over) but I managed to grab one in the shade Mesmerizing Magenta. It’s a very pretty bright pink shade and it definitely felt creamy to apply when I swatched it on my arm. Continue reading
Hi guys! I absolutely love receiving my Colourpop orders! Their packaging is cute, the hand-written note is a nice touch and the products are always amazing! Best of all, I know I didn’t break the bank when I placed my order. I adore and support KathleenLights on YouTube so I knew when she did a second collection with Colourpop that I had to get my hands on it. Continue reading
Hi guys! Colourpop had a sale for Cyber Monday in which everything was reduced by 20% for the day. I saw $4.80 Ultra Matte Liquid Lipsticks and immediately jumped on that bandwagon. I was impressed with the two I had ordered in the fall so I took this opportunity to add a few more to my collection. I love that I can apply them and not worry about my lipstick partially going rogue throughout the day. Continue reading
Hi guys! Today I have a very Jaclyn Hill inspired Morphe Brushes haul for you! I decided a little while ago that I needed to add more makeup brushes to my collection to expand my makeup abilities and make it easier to do different eye looks. I watch a lot of Jaclyn Hill tutorials so I made a point of jotting down a few brushes that she was using and looked like they would fill the void in my makeup brush holder. I already had a few Morphe Brushes so I knew the brushes would be high quality. Continue reading
Hi guys! I finally caved and bought the MAC 242 Shader Brush! Since MAC had a code for free express shipping in Canada, I added a few other items to my order to make sure I met the $55 minimum. I’m not sure if the code is still active, but it is “NOV”. I love the express shipping deals since it really does feel like almost immediate gratification getting your items so quickly.
