November is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month and at work today I helped organize a fundraiser for this very important cause. After losing a friend to this illness last year I did some research and realize how truly terrifying this particular cancer is. Purple is the colour of Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month so we encouraged everyone to wear purple today so you know I had to have my makeup match!
Though my birthday was a little over a week ago I waited a bit to have my party. I just had a small get together at my place but I still wanted to put together a special makeup look for the occasion. Since I purchased the Urban Decay Naked Cherry Palette earlier this month I decided to focus my makeup look on that palette. It was only my second time using the palette but it definitely seems to have the same formula that I know and love from previous Naked palettes.
For the last week or so I’ve had a makeup look in my mind that I wanted to create. I wanted to create something inspired by the Little Mermaid. Meaning… I wanted to combine some foily purples and greens along with a pinky-red lip. Though I didn’t end up using the products exactly as I had envisioned I was quite pleased with how this Little Mermaid inspired makeup look turned out. Hi guys! Today I thought I’d share the makeup that I’m wearing on my face today. My only inspiration for today was that I wanted to finally try the Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops in the shade Halo sample that I picked up from Sephora a few months ago. I was quite enamoured with it once I saw it on Makeup Your Mind (her photos of this highlight are STUNNING!) and decided to give it a shot. I don’t normally go for liquid highlights as I have oily skin and everything must be powdered. Full discloser, I did end up setting this with the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Prismatic Amethyst. It not only helped set it but also helped diffuse it a bit as I was going to a day time event.
So for this look I tried both combining a TINY amount into my foundation and I also added some to my cheekbones. I think next time I’d add a little more to my foundation to see if it makes a difference. I do set everything with a matte powder but it did add a little bit of a glow from within regardless which is what I was going for.
Hi guys! Today I thought I would post the makeup look I’m wearing today as it was the first time I tried the brand new and highly controversial Anastasia Beverly Hills Subculture Palette. For those of you who may not know, there appears to be some manufacturing errors with this palette and some people have received duds. I believe most of the issues have to do with fallout and some shades hitting pan after a few uses. I just used mine for the first time this morning so it’s hard to say if I got a good one or not. So far the quality seems very similar to the Modern Renaissance Palette so I have not experienced any issues with the few shades I did use so far.
Hi guys! Today I thought I would put my selections from my Minimal Makeup post to work and show them in action. This is a makeup look that I would use for most hot summer days but is also great for a day out at the cottage. This could also be used for a day at the beach but you may want to sub in some waterproof products.
Hi guys! I just did a MOTD post yesterday but, I thought, why not do two in a row? I started cleaning off my vanity today and decided to play around with some products I had out waiting to be tested. The end result turned out great so I thought I’d share it with you! I won a YSL Giveaway a few months ago but for some reason I haven’t spend as much time testing out the products as I would have liked to. My makeup routine has been so minimal on the weekends the last few months so that is likely why. During the week when I wear my normal face, I don’t have time to play around so I stick to what I know. Anyways, let’s check out the look and then I’ll talk a bit about the products I tried out!
Hi guys! I’ve had the Morphe 35O Palette for about six months now and I realized that I haven’t done a single look using it here on the blog! Today, we are going to fix that! The Morphe 35O is quite possibly one of Morphe’s most popular makeup palettes. There was a good chunk of time where if you wanted this beauty you had to stalk social media and then be quick to order. Thankfully today it is easier to come by and I actually picked mine up from a Showcase store in my local mall. If you love warm colours, this palette was made for you!
Hi guys! It’s been awhile since I’ve done a MOTD post and I thought it would be fun to showcase some of my picks from last week’s Top 5: Spring & Summer Picks post! I had meant to do this look over the weekend, however, I had one of those barely leave the house/minimal makeup weekends. I think we all need a few of those! It was very relaxing! Anyways, I was able to make time for a mini photoshoot before work so here we go!
