While the air has gotten a little cooler in the mornings and at night, I am still holding onto summer with both hands. I do enjoy fall but I am not a big fan of winter, especially here in Northern Ontario, so I am just not ready for the seasons to start to change at all. With that said, I have a fun and bright summer manicure using two of my favourite Essence nail polishes on this week! This is a variation of a manicure I saw on YouTube (can’t remember who posted it now) years ago. Continue reading

Zoya Ryan & Girly Bits Hocus Pocus
For the first time in awhile I actually took the effort to paint my nails. I don’t know what it has been but lately I just haven’t been able to summon the energy to do it. A couple of years ago the thought of my nails not being painted would have horrified me. I used to paint them twice a week! Anyways, I’ve been wanting to use my holographic top coat, Girly Bits Hocus Pocus over a darker shade so I finally did it. For this manicure I layered it over top of Zoya’s Ryan. I’ve previously featured Girly Bits Hocus Pocus over OPI Live.Love.Carnival. Continue reading
Essence Do You Speak Love?
When I want a quick manicure that will survive about a week with minimal chipping, Essence’s gel polishes are one of my go-to’s. They are inexpensive and they really do last on the nails. Today I’ve got Essence Do You Speak Love? on my nails, which to be honest, I don’t remember purchasing. I had to double check to make sure I hadn’t previously featured it on the blog. I sometimes pick them up when I’m grocery shopping so that would explain why I don’t remember purchasing it. I’m sure I’ve worn it at least once before though. It’s a beautiful deep red shade which is the type of red I’m more drawn to wearing versus the classic brighter reds. Continue reading
Butter London Henley Regatta
It may not be Monday but I still wanted to share the manicure that I’m wearing this week with you. I’ve had Butter London Henley Regatta in my polish collection for quite a few years now but I don’t think I’ve shared it on the blog yet. This weeks manicure was inspired by my Little Mermaid Makeup Look that I shared earlier this week. I really wanted to combine a purple base (Essie Gel Couture in Turn N Pose) with this glittery teal beauty. The end result is a bit more reminiscent of a peacock but it’s all good! The end result was a manicure that I just cannot stop staring at so… goal achieved! Let’s take a closer look at Butter London Henley Regatta. Continue reading
Mani Monday: OPI Lincoln Park After Dark
Hi guys! It’s been awhile since I last did did a Mani Monday (I feel like I’m always saying that) but I’m back today with one of my favourite nail polishes ever, OPI Lincoln Park After Dark. I love this vampy shade of eggplant purple all year round, but I always feel a particular need to wear it when fall begins. What I love about it is that it is such a rich dark purple that it is nearly black, but you can still see that it is indeed purple.
Products Used:
OPI Nail Envy Original (1 coat)
OPI Lincoln Park After Dark (2 coats)
Glisten & Glow HK Girl Fast Drying Top Coat (1 coat)
The formula of OPI Lincoln Park After Dark is creamy and smooth. It applies like butter and is easy to control. My bottle has gotten a bit thick (I’ve had it for about six years) so it was a bit more difficult to apply than normal, but that’s nothing a few thinning drops won’t fix.
I particularly love this shade on short/medium length nails, I feel like there is something sophisticated about how it looks worn that way. Personally, I can’t stop staring at my nails when I have this polish on. This polish is definitely a staple in my collection, and since it is quite popular, I imagine it is a staple to many. This is one shade that I can’t imagine OPI would ever retire. But, if they do, I have two bottles of it in my collection! That is how much I love this shade.

Mani Monday
Hi guys! It’s Monday again so it’s time to share my manicure of the week! I was feeling really uninspired when I was sifting through my nail polish collection trying to figure out what to wear this week. Although I’m usually drawn to purples I feel like I’ve worn a lot of those lately. Red is generally outside of my comfort zone when it comes to nail polish. For some reason, despite owning many red nail polishes, I don’t like wearing them. So, I thought I would switch it up and wear a red! I chose OPI’s Smoke’n in Havana. The photo doesn’t pick it up very well but this one has a hint of coral to it. I actually like the way it looks on my nails, to my surprise! It also applied very nice and evenly.
Products Used:
OPI Chip Skip
OPI Nail Envy in Original (1 coat)
OPI Smoke’n in Havana (2 coats)
Glisten & Glow HK Girl Fast Drying Top-Coat (1 coat)

Mani Monday
Hi guys! I’m back with another Mani Monday! I’ve taken a few weeks off from the Mani Monday series, I just haven’t had time to paint my nails lately. I had a Christmas party to attend last Saturday and I was wearing red so I thought it would be nice to do red nails as well. I’m not usually matchy-matchy but I hadn’t worn this polish in awhile so I went for it. I also didn’t have much time and I knew this polish would apply well with just two thin coats. Continue reading
Mani Monday
Hi guys! Today’s manicure is kind of a random one. I didn’t really know what I was doing when I did it, I just started playing and went with it. All I knew was that I wanted to combine the soft pink with teal. I’m undecided if I actually like the results, but it was fun to sit down, clear my head and just play with polish. I haven’t done the in awhile.
Mani Monday #5
Hi guys! It seems like I’m in a definite vampy-nails place right now. Just like last week I am rocking another vampy manicure. I actually do love vampy nails all year round, but probably wear them the most during the fall and winter. This manicure combines two of my favourite things, vampy nails and the colour purple, and it is another very fall-appropriate manicure.
Products Used:
OPI Chip Skip
OPI Nail Envy Maintenance (1 coat)
OPI Vampsterdam (2 coats)
Glisten & Glow HK Girl Fast Drying & Super Shiny Top Coat (as always!)
Vamspterdam has a great formula. It applies like butter and isn’t at all patchy. With the addition of HK Girl, my nails were dry and I was able to use my hands (with some limitation) in about 10 minutes. This top coat is seriously amazing.
What is your favourite kind of manicure to wear (ie. brights, glitters, shimmers, nail art, etc)? Let me know in the comments down below!
